>Mark_Miller: OOTY 8G TOYO +14 14
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIKMNRR K8 NARK +24 24
#note K5 KIRN does offer better equity and not by much. With NARK, I don't give back nearly as many points to Mark with this than KIRN. Playing his own name at 9H doesn't leave me with as much scoring flexibility next turn, so I went with this. All 3 of these moves are simming at the top, so I would make a more open board while not inviting board-closing overlaps.
>Mark_Miller: AEFST 12H FEAST +33 47
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIIJMNR H10 IN.IRM +33 57
#note Leaving IINR didn't seem that appealing to me, hence passing up 7H JAM. INFIRM did leave me with the ability to score again with 14F JA(R or 14H RA(J) next turn. It would be a particularly strong play if I picked another A. I didn't see I3 JIMIN(Y), but INFIRM does sim ahead of JIMINY and JAM because my play is 6 more and honestly, I don't hate keeping the J here.
>Mark_Miller: MOZ J6 ZO.M +39 86
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ABEIJL G2 JuBILA.E +68 125
#note So I did briefly consider not bingoing by doing 14H JA(R), but because there's still 6 more As left, and Mark doesn't have very good floaters to bingo through up top, this was the play. Very happy to have seen this one.
>Mark_Miller: EHRY 4D HER.Y +34 120
>Samuel_Kaplan: ELOPTUU 3B LOUP +21 146
#note 1 letter off from the very cool bingo of PURULENT. I thought this was more sound than 14B POULTE(R). ETU seemed like a stronger leave with the open R in INFIRM and LOUP blocks a lot of 2x2s from the E in HERBY.
>Mark_Miller: ?EGNRTW 13C TWERk.NG +80 200
#note This is a nice fit. However, sTREW(I)NG in the same spot scores 8 more for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DEGISTU 2G .UDGIEST +92 238
#note If I don't see this bingo, I don't know if I'm winning this game because nothing else scores nearly this much. This is the only bingo once again.
>Mark_Miller: EFI 1L FIE +23 223
>Samuel_Kaplan: LNPRSVV H1 P.N. +28 266
#note It's the only move worth making that's not an exchange.
>Mark_Miller: AGIO 12A AGIO +24 247
>Samuel_Kaplan: ELQRSVV A11 V.LVE +33 299
#note Another Houdini act presents itself somehow. Without getting this A, I'm looking at exchanging down to ELRS or ERS.
>Mark_Miller: ABO K4 OBA +21 268
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEQRSUW L4 WAS +38 337
#note It seemed like a difficult play to make at first just because I am parting ways with the important FEASTS hook. And Quackle does indeed agree that WAS and fishing off the W with E3 (PE)W are very close to each other. I hit a bingo with the FEASTS hook with 8/27 draws which didn't seem like good enough odds to justify giving up 22 points immediately. If I don't hit a playable 7 next turn by drawing either an E, H, S, or T, (or an I draw for 15M (M)ARQUISE), where am I really going to score besides something like M12 SUQ? If I was down, I might be more inclined to make that type of move. But while Mark appeared to be struggling with too many vowels, I felt that trying to outrun him would be the play. With that said, I did also consider F10 QUA(R)E to score and keep the FEASTS hook, but I just don't see where I could bail myself out of consonant trouble if I somehow avoid the vowels in a more balanced pool and Mark has been hoarding vowels.
>Mark_Miller: ACDE 11C ACED +25 293
>Samuel_Kaplan: DEEQRTU D11 ...ER +11 348
#note Up until now, this game has been great. But the clear best play here is 10F ED(I)T which was missed. #visionlarge
>Mark_Miller: NU 10K .UN +3 296
#note Well now it's time to address that.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DEOQTTU N6 QUOTED +44 392
#note Just like that. I tacked the D on to make it as hard as possible for Mark to bingo on Column O.
>Mark_Miller: AIIN O6 INIA +33 329
>Samuel_Kaplan: CHIORST 6A TROCHI.S +67 459
#note No home for OSTRICH, but this out bingo is a nice way to end this one. 1-0 +158.
>Samuel_Kaplan: (ADEELX) +28 487
