#note Maybe J7 LEWK?
>Jeremy_Hall: EINRT K3 TRINE +25 45
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAIKLOR K9 OKA +17 41
>Jeremy_Hall: ??FHILR 3H FIL.HieR +76 121
#note Surprisingly, the only bingo that does not open up a 3x3 for me that plays on Row 3 is 3f FLIcH(T)eR.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADILNRT L8 DRAIL +28 69
#note I thought about doing H1 LI(F)T at first. Then I wanted an option that would dispose of my R with the R in FILTHIER being present and also keep the E open. So I went with this.
>Jeremy_Hall: GIT H1 GI.T +27 148
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABFLNTW M10 FLAW +35 104
#note I was about to do M10 BLAWN to shed another consonant. But keeping the N is actually great here after Jeremy gave me a G to work with. And while O1 BA(R)F does score 4 more than FLAW, LNTW is too clunky of a leave on this board with the lack of open vowels after BARF. This move presents a nice middle ground while still keeping the important N for gerund bingoes on Row 1.
>Jeremy_Hall: AAGU G7 A.UGA +15 163
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABGINPT O1 GA.B +30 134
#note No open IS for BAPTISING unfortunately. This is in line with last turn knowing I picked an I to hopefully hit a bingo on Row 1. INPT is a fantastic leave here.
>Jeremy_Hall: EIOV 10E VO.IE +11 174
#note He must have had too many vowels if he didn't do 8L DOVE or DIVE for 13 more.
>Samuel_Kaplan: INNPTTZ J11 PINT +14 148
#note There's no excuse for missing 8L DITZ. Let's just leave it at that. I'm glad I didn't do F5 TIZ because I could sorely use an S hook to bingo and get back in this one. But I needed to see DITZ. That's just too many points right there, not to mention the Z is a sucky tile on this board. #findinglarge
>Jeremy_Hall: IY E9 I.Y +18 192
>Samuel_Kaplan: EENNOTZ 8A NONET +28 176
#note 8L DOZE. This is called not playing like an expert. I know I am capable of better than this.
>Jeremy_Hall: EXY 8L .EXY +45 237
#note Yes, Jeremy will score well with the X in more than 1 spot based on this partial rack because of L3 (H)EX. But just because that's the case, that doesn't mean it's OK to miss basic Z plays.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEERUVZ N12 REZ +32 208
#note This time, keeping the Z is fine by doing C7 U(N)REEVE which I missed.
>Jeremy_Hall: EIOOR 15I OORIE +13 250
>Samuel_Kaplan: EENQRUV N6 VE. +21 229
#note Good. The QU combo is quite potent here.
>Jeremy_Hall: DEOOSTU 5B OUTDOES +75 325
#note Nice play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EENQRSU D1 QUES. +48 277
#note I hated to block the G, but there's only 1 N and 1 I left and Jeremy could have just as easily picked it after his bingo. I think I need to score and hope to bingo back, and I can't score well without burning my S.
>Jeremy_Hall: INP 11B PIN. +9 334
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACCEMNR L2 C.EM +33 310
#note It does not appear that I can realistically fish for any bingoes here. The problem with trying to hit MERCHAN(T) or RANCHME(N) on the bottom of the board with an H draw is it's the only place where I can bingo, and without a spot in a different quadrant for MARCHEN, Jeremy will recognize the potential threat and block. After playing 2 tiles with I6 CAT, Jeremy will have full knowledge and will once again block. So I had to give up and cut spread. I also thought about doing 12A CANE to eliminate the threat of SHALE, SHEAS, or SHADE. I would most likely get myself in consonant trouble after that.
>Jeremy_Hall: AABEHSS A11 SHEAS +46 380
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACDLNR O13 DAL +30 340
#note 2B AD(U)NC gets more stuff off my rack despite only scoring 2 less. #endgamemedium
>Jeremy_Hall: AB I12 BA +12 392
#note F5 OBA scores 1 more for him. I will say the game was lost when I did PINT. That's where I needed to play DITZ and I can always deplete the bag more slowly on the following turn with several more Is to draw. Great game Jeremy! 2-1 +219.
