#player2 David_Gremaud David Gremaud
>Jonathan_Lindh: EIIIOPT -IIIOP +0 0
#note 2024 WGPO Madison Tournament. Round 13. This game started my 4 game losing streak which knocked me out of contention. Exchanging is right, but keeping EIPT is a slightly better exchange.
>David_Gremaud: ABEGL 8D GLEBA +20 20
#note After the game, David said he should have played BAGEL over this play after my exchange 5 which is true, but we both missed BELGA which is even better.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEEJNT I7 JEE +28 28
#note Looks good.
>David_Gremaud: DEIV 10F VIED +28 48
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAAENTT 7E ANA +13 41
#note Maybe D7 AGNATE for 14. ANA is fine, though.
>David_Gremaud: CEO J5 ECO +20 68
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEEOTT 6F ATE +15 56
#note D8 GOATEE for 14.
>David_Gremaud: AKMRS 5C MARKS +36 104
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEOPRTU 4A ROUPE +30 86
#note Looks like I got away with a phony 5 here. It sims better than any other valid play. 4C UPO for 24 may be the best out of the valid moves.
>David_Gremaud: DI E10 ID +15 119
>Jonathan_Lindh: EFNRTUV K2 TURF +24 110
#note Looks good.
>David_Gremaud: EEINPRS 3H PEN.RIES +72 191
#note A1 PRERINSE for 140.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EHLNOQV O3 .HOVEL +48 158
#note 2nd best play. I was sure SHOVEL was best at the time, but 5 seconds after hitting my clock, I realized I missed H1 QOPH for 66 for about the tenth time.
>David_Gremaud: EMRY A1 MER.Y +30 221
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ILNQUW H10 .QUINe +45 203
#note SHOVEL did allow me to try a blank. This was a hard turn. I played EQUINE to open as much as possible and score. 12A QUINS for 49 scores more though and still keeps things pretty open. There is one one unseen U and two unseen D's so QUINs does not actually give back as much as it might seem.
>David_Gremaud: ACDEIXZ G13 XI +36 257
#note I think this was David's actual rack. I know he said he kept ZA so he was setting up his Z with XI and he had EXCIDE to the E in IVIED if I did not do EQUINE.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ALLOSWW K7 WALLOWS +89 292
#note Best. One of my best finds of the tournament.
>David_Gremaud: ACDEZ F14 ZA +63 320
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADINOST 1A .ANTOIDS +86 378
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADINOST -- -86 292
#note Horrible. I convinced myself SAINTDOM had this anagram. Potentially a game-losing play.
>David_Gremaud: ENT N2 T.EN +15 335
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADINOST L11 DOIT +25 317
#note 3C DO for 23. Keeps more of a good rack together plus neutralizes a big spot for David.
>David_Gremaud: GGI M13 GIG +20 355
>Jonathan_Lindh: AHNOORS H1 SO.H +39 356
#note 3C HO for 31.
>David_Gremaud: FI B1 IF +24 379
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ABNORT 3C BO +27 383
#note As a final insult to injury, I see BARYTON and the N7 lane, but don't make the connection I can hook an N onto (SIG)N and not just an N. TABORIN also works. Not a well played game. Either of the two bingos should win on the spot.
>David_Gremaud: ACDNOTU D11 ADUNC +25 404
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AINRTY L1 YA.e +24 407
#note And I still have wins! N9 TYRANT for 43 or N10 YARNS for 39 (I still have not spotted SIGN), get the job done.
>David_Gremaud: OT N14 TO +13 417
#note Best.
>David_Gremaud: (INRT) +8 425
#note Final score recorded as 423-407. Probably my worst played game of the tournament. Should have won this one.
