>Jonathan_Lindh: DEIRSWY 8D WEIRDY +34 34
#note Here is the first streamed game of the Lake George Main Event. This is my second time ever being on stream. First time was back in New Orleans at the Crescent City Cup against Joey Mallick. Somewhere on Let's Play Scrabble, you can find the video of it. I think Cesar told me it was his first time ever on stream. WEIRDY looks best. I would begin and end the main event with a high scoring 6 letter word that does not take an S.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: EEELNST F3 SELEN.TE +62 62
#note Blocking BATGIRLS.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABGILST 7I BIG +19 53
#note This was a hard turn for me. BIG ranks first on static equity, but 7I BLAG beats out BIG by about 4.5 points in a sim. I was hoping to set up my A or S, but Cesar probably has an A himself too much of the time. BLAG does expose the triple word score more though, so I am unsure about this play.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: ABW 6H WAB +32 94
>Jonathan_Lindh: AILPSTT 4A PLATI.ST +78 131
#note Best. Cesar held and I was hoping he would challenge, but he did not.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: ANNRV 10B VANN.R +17 111
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACEGNOT 8K OCEAN +33 164
#note Another hard turn. I wanted to find something through the P of PLATIEST, but nothing really jumped out. 5H AGONE for 33 is a little better because of the slightly better leave, but it's very close. OCEAN is a very reasonable play.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: JMU A1 JUM. +45 156
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEFGLRT 3C FAG. +31 195
#note Best. Playing very well so far.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: DOU 11C DUO +17 173
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEELORT 12B DOT +18 213
#note I knew I goofed when I made this play. I have had problems seeing RONDELET/REDOLENT for some time. Being on stream may have played a slight role in this miss at well. Nearly all of my bingo misses during the main event were understandable...except this one.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: AIMNOOR 3H AMORINO +76 249
#note Had I played REDOLENT like I should have, AMORINO doesn't play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEELRTV N6 TR.VELED +66 279
#note I nearly tunnelled on this word as well, but got myself in gear just in time. Stream viewers probably noted VERTED for EVERTED on my rack for a while.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: AGHN O12 HANG +48 297
>Jonathan_Lindh: IKORSUY 2J YOK +39 318
#note Best. Considered M12 YOK for 37 as well but my YOK is better. Note the top and bottom setups of SKI and KIR respectively.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: AIZ 13K ZAI.. +30 327
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEHIRSU 4L RUSH +40 358
#note This spot I created the last turn seemed too dangerous to leave alone with something like 5C HEEL for 34. Quackle likes sacrificing 16 points with 4L REI for 24. I don't know if I would feel comfortable doing that at this margin. And yes, I knew AMORINOS* was phony.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: IQR C3 ..QIR +18 345
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EEEIIT -EEI +0 358
#note Yes, I never saw JUMPIEST. Oddly enough, Quackle prefers different exchanges over playing JUMPIEST, preferring keeping T?, IT?, or ET? to scoring 54 points. What I did still ranks in the top 10 plays.
>Cesar_Del_Solar: OUX G10 .OUX +19 364
#note This screamed PI_ setup to me and I think Cesar had these letters at some point around this turn.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?CEEFIT K11 FE. +30 388
#note I decide to leave Cesar's setup alone and take the easy Z spot because if Cesar tries and play at H12, he will almost certainly give me a bingo through a row 15 floater. I also liked the idea of leaving 2 in the bag instead of emptying the bag or leaving 1 in the bag to complicate things for Cesar. The room was very hot and it was starting to get VERY loud. I don't think people could hear how loud it was onstream. Cesar was also running very low on time as well (under a minute).
>Cesar_Del_Solar: AEP B6 PEA +23 387
#note Cesar blocked JUMPIEST (which I still did not see), plus he had 3 seconds on his clock after he played this. Shortly after he played this, I stopped the clock and we corrected a scoring discrepancy. We now had them right 388-387 my lead.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?CEIOST 15H ESCOTIn. +83 471
#note I found the worse of my two playable bingos. I knew JOCKIEST cold. I just did not think to make the blank a K when looking in the row 1 line. Hand me this rack with a K instead of the blank (or any other letter as the blank except the K) and I find JOCKIEST at least 90-95% of the time. Also, the noisy playing room played a role on this turn as well.
