>Peter_Schwartzman: AFGINY 8D FAYING +34 34
#note September 14, 2024 Galesburg, Illinois WGPO Tournament. Round 5.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACEEOQS G7 Q. +21 21
>Peter_Schwartzman: ADEORRY D8 .OREYARD +84 118
#note Looks best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AACEEOS 14B CA.E +12 33
#note Quackle likes 14B OCREAE for 20 here. I think my play is a creative option. It plays some defense and sets up my S.
>Peter_Schwartzman: AOZ 11B ZO.A +26 144
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEGIOPS A12 PISO +34 67
>Peter_Schwartzman: DGINOU H3 UNDOI.G +21 165
#note UNDOING blocked AVENGED.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADEEGNV F10 VEG +29 96
#note I looked for a play that hooked both ZOEA and SCARE but could not come up with F11 EVADE for 40. That's the play. F11 EGAD for 37 is the only other play that hooks both ZOEA and SCARE. VEG is #3.
>Peter_Schwartzman: BEKR 13C K.B +34 199
#note Peter almost played E5 BREAK for 27 which would have blocked my next play. To my relief, he opted to score more points with KAB.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADELNRW 5E DAW.LER +48 144
#note 5E WADDLER for 48 is the only other double double.
>Peter_Schwartzman: AEHINR 6J HERNIA +34 233
>Jonathan_Lindh: ACINPRU 4A CURIA +23 167
#note Best! Open a 2nd triple triple and hope for the best.
>Peter_Schwartzman: EO C3 O.E +6 239
>Jonathan_Lindh: DELNPTU O2 UNPL.TED +92 259
#note How this isn't any good I don't know.
>Peter_Schwartzman: ?EEIMOS 15D .EMOnISE +85 324
#note Best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEIILST L9 LAITIES +78 337
#note Best. I also had K5 REALITIES for 68 lined up in case Peter went elsewhere.
>Peter_Schwartzman: AEHT A4 .HEAT +30 354
>Jonathan_Lindh: EINRSTX B6 XI +52 389
>Peter_Schwartzman: JTU 2A JUT +24 378
>Jonathan_Lindh: BENRSTW 10J BR.WN +18 407
#note This was a brutally hard position. I have to block column N because there are a bunch of playable 7's. However, I need to keep a vowel because of the horrible unseen pool. 14K WENT for 19 is another option and it blocks some stuff on row 13 (FOOTLING, MONOLITH) that BRAWN doesn't. However, if FV is in the bag, WENT can get a bit dicey.
>Peter_Schwartzman: ?LMNOTV 13I VOM.T +28 406
#note Best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EFOST M1 SOFTE. +18 425
#note SOFTEN plays at 3J as well.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (LN?) +4 429
