#player2 Will_Anderson Will Anderson
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAEEEIL -AAEEI +0 0
#note I see this as an opportunity to turn this day around. I think that facing a former national champ will bring the best out of me.
>Will_Anderson: EMOSTUY 8G YUM +16 16
#note Thanks to Will for providing his racks for this game. I like YUM over MOUSEY just because I get fewer floaters (not necessarily good ones) to work with.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ELOSTUU G8 .OU +7 7
#note I did not know I6 TU(M)ULOSE in this case. Should probably work on my UU 7s and 8s.
>Will_Anderson: EEFMOST 10F F.ME +17 33
>Samuel_Kaplan: ELLLSTU H10 .ULLET +27 34
#note Wowzer. Picked 2 more Ls out of a nearly full bag. Despite 11I LULL being better equity, LS is not 17 points worse than EST on this board. This looks fine because it's 6 more than J10 TULLE and is more sound.
>Will_Anderson: EIIKOST J10 TIKI +22 55
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?BDELSS 14F BL.D +13 47
#note This play is another mistake. I looked for some time for -LESS words and I can't be chickening out on things like K5 BeDLESS which is 101. The only playable bingo on Row 14 is DEBtL(E)SS. Even something as simple as 14G B(E)DS is better because it isn't worth it to keep 2 Ss on this board. #findinglarge
>Will_Anderson: AEOOSUY 12J .AYO +22 77
>Samuel_Kaplan: ??ESSST K4 hoSTESS +71 118
#note I feel like I tanked on this turn too. This isn't terrible over some Column N bingoes because many things there give back quite a bit. Will liked N9 coSSETS post-mortem, which I didn't see, just because the bottom right section of the board will likely be closed for a while due to only 1 S remaining for the FUMETS hook. But even slotting an S at 15N could cause me problems if Will hits plays like ZEST or JOSH or EXIST down there.
>Will_Anderson: EGILOSU 11B GUILE +17 94
#note Assuming I got Will's rack correctly here, he had M8 ISOL(O)GUE available for 70.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACCEEI 4H CAC.E +22 140
#note Gotta love the 3 sets of duplicates. I definitely like 13B AECIA better here. #visionmedium
>Will_Anderson: GNNOQRS -GNQ +0 94
>Samuel_Kaplan: AADEEIJ 15C JADEI.E +25 165
#note My first thought here was looking for a play that saved DIJ to hopefully draw 1 of the 6 remaining Os for 8K (E)JIDO next turn. However, there isn't a good way to do that without being saddled with the J and other vowels. The closest thing that would have accomplished something similar is 13E AA(L)I(I). But it only scores 18 and if I don't draw into EJIDO, how else am I scoring with the J next turn? This looks decent if it means cleaning up the rack and not having too many vowels, but M2 JADE does sim a little ahead of my play just because even though Will can overlap the J a lot of the time, I will hold an E to have more counterplay as well.
>Will_Anderson: NOOORSZ C10 O.ZO +26 120
#note I can see why he would be in a hard spot here. If he does N8 ORZOS, I can hammer Column O easily.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAEINOT D7 ATON.A +38 203
#note Looks like the clear best play.
>Will_Anderson: ANORRRS H1 RAN.OR +24 144
#note Nice play to fork.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEHIINP E4 HEINIE +24 227
>Will_Anderson: NORRSTW 4A WORT. +30 174
>Samuel_Kaplan: GGPPQRV -GGPPQV +0 227
#note It's close between keeping R, keeping PR, and keeping nothing. With more consonants lurking than vowels, and with there still being some more high pointers unseen, I decided to ditch both Ps too.
>Will_Anderson: DIINRRS 3F RI.D +13 187
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABEFRVW M9 FAV.R +30 257
#note I was fine with this play setting up my W because Will didn't seem to have high pointers after his last play. I also liked how if Will made an X play, I can get good counterplay with my E.
>Will_Anderson: EINNPRS N4 SPINNER +72 259
#note This is his only bingo.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BEEGOVW O8 OWE +36 293
#note This is an ugly unseen pool folks! The 6 extra points are important to have with this over OW in a close game, however, the Q is a bit scary if I don't draw an A or an I with it.
>Will_Anderson: ADHNPQT B3 Q.PH +26 285
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABEGGIV O1 VAGI +30 323
#note I don't see any wins for Will, and neither does Quackle. If he blocks 1F BE(R)G with (R)AX, then I don't see any out plays for him keeping DNT. If he responds with 2E TAX(A), then I simply go out with 1D BEG.
>Will_Anderson: ADNTX L7 AX +36 321
#note Looks like his best spread cutter.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BEG 1F BE.G +7 330
#note That was ugly, but we got it done. I will say fewer mistakes in general this time. 2-4 -263.
>Samuel_Kaplan: (DNT) +8 338
