#player1 Joe_Petree Joe Petree
#player2 Samuel_Kaplan Samuel Kaplan
>Joe_Petree: EFILOOQ - +0 0
#note Not actual rack. Joe exchanged 3 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: HNOPRTX 8H NORTH +24 24
#note I did see THORP for 26 but figured this sets up my X better. Also, I don't have the E hook for THORPE which I would potentially be setting up for Joe after his exchange 3.
>Joe_Petree: EIIMNR K5 MIN.IER +36 36
#note There is the NORTHERN extension available for him, but this looks better as keeping 2 Is is not desirable.
>Samuel_Kaplan: IILNPTX 10H PIX.L +30 54
#note Since there's no instant messaging allowed in Scrabble (or the abbreviation for elemental nickel), I couldn't hit him as hard with the X as I wanted to. Looks good.
>Joe_Petree: Q 6J Q. +31 67
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEIJNRT I7 J. +17 71
#note Yes, I did see the NORTHERN extension. The J is not worth keeping here. I can save that for next turn in case I don't draw a bingo.
>Joe_Petree: EKOW 11E WOKE +26 93
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEINRTV 12A VENIER +33 104
#note It's been that kind of day for me. I was so on tilt that I picked one of a few tiles that would not allow me to bingo that I end up misspelling a word. I meant to play VEINER at 12A. Luckily, neither one of us would catch this careless mistake until it was far too late. Also, VERITE or VENIRE both play at 12D which I failed to spot. #visionmedium
>Joe_Petree: AAR A12 .ARA +21 114
>Samuel_Kaplan: CDGNORT 10D DOC +29 133
#note I like this play a lot to hopefully once again redraw the NORTHERN extension. And GNRT works fine with the open E.
>Joe_Petree: AB L4 BA +12 126
>Samuel_Kaplan: AGNORTY M2 ORANGY +37 170
#note I did not see H10 (PE)ROGY but I really wanted to address this spot after Joe's fish. And the NORTHERN extension is out of play now.
>Joe_Petree: AEENSST 13E SENATES +72 198
#note Yea, figured it might happen. Or bingo into the D in DOC. But at least he opened up a hotspot for me.
>Samuel_Kaplan: FGHPSTU 2L F.G +14 184
#note Probably M10 SUGH or M10 SHTUP is fine even with a clunkier leave and after Joe picked 7 random tiles.
>Joe_Petree: DEELV 1H DELVE +36 234
>Samuel_Kaplan: HOPRSTU 14J HOURS +47 231
#note Definitely need to score here. Good play.
>Joe_Petree: ABDNOUY - +0 234
#note Not actual rack. Joe exchanged 4 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DIPTTT B8 PITT.D +14 245
#note I did not know B6 TITTuP(E)D here. Joe thought this was much more aggressive than H13 (A)PT which I considered, but DITT? didn't look too promising to keep next turn. I thought this was a great play because after Joe responds to the left of the P somehow, I have another bingo lane open.
>Joe_Petree: OW A7 WO +27 261
#note I guess Joe didn't pick too well after his exchange.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AFNTUZ 9G ZA +27 272
#note M12 ZA(R)F is better. #findingmedium
>Joe_Petree: AY O1 AY +26 287
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?FLNOTU C3 FLOUNTs +76 348
#note I really thought I would be ending my tournament streak of playing and getting away with a phony bingo at 2. Guess we'll have to wait longer for that to end because I mixed up FLAUNTS and FLOUTS. While I did visit the famous King of Prussia Mall after the tournament was over, I really should have gotten a lottery ticket because that's how lucky I've been. Perhaps SLAWINGS* from 2 tournaments ago made me that much more emboldened to phony all of a sudden? Well, that's a lot of points I stole on this turn because N10 FOUL(S) is only 16 compared to this 76 pointer.
>Joe_Petree: ACII 4A CI.IA +20 307
>Samuel_Kaplan: BEEIOST 3C .OB +14 362
#note Figured this would be an easier bingo lane for Joe to hit than the A in VARA with this pool.
>Joe_Petree: U 7C .U +2 309
#note I'm surprised he didn't create another threat by playing the U at G13.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEIMSTU N7 EMEU +13 375
#note Hmm...his last play suggested to me that he probably had at least 2 of the 3 remaining consonants. As I go through the draws, I think it's pretty obvious which lane I should block: with an A draw, Joe has N8 LEDGIE(S)t, with a D draw he has N7 ELEGIAc(S) and N8 LEGAlI(S)E as well as 15A (A)LIEnAGE, with an E draw he has N8 GLADIE(S)t, with a G draw he has N8 IDEALi(S)E, with an I draw he has nothing because DEGLAzE(S) won't play for him, and with an L draw he has nothing. Yea, Quackle isn't always reliable in pre-endgame scenarios and for some reason doens't even value how great EMEU really is.
>Joe_Petree: ?ADEEGI O6 GAE +30 339
#note Knowing I'm going out, he did miss O4 GEArED for 47. That's a great spread cutter for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ILST 5E LIST +18 393
#note While I did avoid these small mistakes better than last game, I also got lucky. Like I've said before, only a matter of time before someone smacks a phony bingo attempt off the board. 3-3 -13.
>Samuel_Kaplan: (DEI?) +8 401
