>David_Firstman: AHJ 7F HAJ +23 23
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIIRSSU -IU +0 14
#note I felt like K8 SIEUR, which I saw, exposes too many good floaters for David to potentially play bingoes through and wasn't worth it for only 18 points to play 5 nice tiles. Apparently, I underestimated my chances of actually hitting a bingo after exchanging an I (as opposed to F7 HI or J8 KI because David can score and block effectively with both of those plays). If I had to do this over again, keeping EIRSSU is fine.
>David_Firstman: FLNU J4 FLUN. +14 37
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEGIRSS 9F REG +16 30
#note This is where I wasn't sure what to do. I do want a more open board against David but REG seemed slightly reckless. Maybe GIE in the same spot is fine. I can still make a 2nd S hook without giving back hooks I don't have (AREG, DREG). #strategysmall
>David_Firstman: IQ I3 QI +26 63
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEGISST 10H SAGIEST +76 106
#note Good draw.
>David_Firstman: BDEORSV L7 OBS.RVED +84 147
#note Or he can hit me right back because I gave him the floater he needed.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CILOORY M3 COOLY +37 143
#note Looks like the clear best play. CO might be a little better of a leave in general, but it's pretty much neutral on this board. I just don't see good prospects with the C right now.
>David_Firstman: DHI 13J HI.D +16 163
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACIINNR F4 INC. +15 158
#note Keeps the best leave for me, makes another bingo line, and keeps the AREG hook open. Terrible that I can't score much in this position, so might as well hope to bingo next turn.
>David_Firstman: ?AFIMOR 12D FORMIcA +79 242
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AEINRT 14D ANEsTRI +68 226
#note Yea, I looked thru the N in INCH trying to find something other that INTERNAL which would not open up a 3x3 for David. It's too easy to spend several minutes on a turn like this when I have a million bingoes available. Might as well just do 11A ReTINAE, idk. That's several more. #strategylarge
>David_Firstman: EITU 15A ETUI +18 260
#note That could have been a lot worse than it was.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEORTTW 11C TOW +27 253
#note Looks good.
>David_Firstman: DEEMOUV - +0 260
#note Not actual rack. David exchanged 5 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELRTVW 4L V.W +18 271
#note Those friggin Ws!!
>David_Firstman: AELP 3C LEAP +24 284
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEILRTX 4B RAX +40 311
#note Definitely not doing AX when there's several hooks left. This also gives me one more chance at drawing the last remaining S.
>David_Firstman: NO 3M .ON +10 294
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEILTY 2N YE +30 341
#note Clearly best.
>David_Firstman: ADEM 2A MEAD +28 322
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABEILT 1A AB +28 369
#note I did not see 8A ALBITE for 41! That's pretty cool and takes out the entire left side of the board. I would go on to see the (PINCH)E(R) insertion later on.
>David_Firstman: ENT G1 NET +12 334
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEILSTU O2 ..SUITE +35 404
#note I spent a while looking for 3x3s thru the EN that did not exist, and I inexplicably didn't even bother looking elsewhere and failed to notice the open N for INSULATE. I don't care that this pool is not friendly, I can't be making mistakes like that. Always, always look all over the board. This was misscored as 34.
>David_Firstman: ENOPRUZ 1E ZO.ER +42 376
#note I'm lucky David missed PO(N)ZU in the same spot.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEGL 8B GLADE +22 426
#note Much better board vision on this turn and only out play. The ANESTRI turn could have been better and certainly on the AEILSTU rack I could have done a better job of not being fixated on one area of the board. Fortunately, I played well enough to win another one and put myself in a position to have a chance to win the tournament. Final score was recoreded as 435-376. 4-2 +276.
