#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Annette_Obrestad: AJNRTU 8D JURANT +42 42
#note 2024 Word Cup. Round 23.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEFMNPZ 7E MEZE +54 54
#note Best.
>Annette_Obrestad: EX 9F EX +47 89
>Jonathan_Lindh: FGINOPR E7 ..RING +28 82
#note Quackle loves F6 FERE for 15 keeping very well and interfering with E column plays. 6H FOP for 20 (which I almost played) also sims better than MURING. MURING does score the most though and defends against big J plays.
>Annette_Obrestad: GIM 6H MIG +15 104
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAFGKOP D10 KAAF +36 118
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAFGKOP -- -36 82
#note 5E KAPA for 26. I rushed this play and played a phony.
>Annette_Obrestad: CIORU 5D CURIO +20 124
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAFGKOP K4 FAG +22 104
#note I thought Annette picked up S? after CURIO so I was playing defense with FAG. FAG seems fine given this inference. I also considered D10 KOA for 28, a play i considered on the KAAF* phony. KOA ranks highly too.
>Annette_Obrestad: ?EEIOTT 12E .OEThITE +68 192
#note I was right that Annette picked up a blank after CURIO but she never picked up an S. If I play KOA, her bingos score just 59 off of the T and she might pass up on them because they would open risky lines.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AKOOPSU 11J KAPU +34 138
#note Not being able to hit L1 hard was very annoying. KAPU is within 2-3 points of the best play of OTAKU for 27. KAPU is fine too.
>Annette_Obrestad: LOW 4G OWL +26 218
#note WOMEN extensions are now in play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AELOOOS L2 OLEA +20 158
#note Quackle likes fishing with 4K FOO for 12 here.
>Annette_Obrestad: ADNRY 10K RANDY +23 241
>Jonathan_Lindh: HIOOSTV O8 IV. +27 185
#note Another very hard turn. I spent a very long time going back and forth between IVY and O6 HOOTY. IVY wins the sim.
>Annette_Obrestad: HNT N6 NTH +13 254
>Jonathan_Lindh: AHIOOST 13G HOOTS +37 222
#note NTH blocked ATISHOO which I saw. I was rewarded after IVY with yet another very hard turn. Do you do HOOT, SHOOT, or HOOTS in row 13. I picked HOOTS for the scoring, but I wondered after the game if I should have picked SHOOT to allow me to more readily reopen the board later in the game. HOOTS doesn't give that much back at least. HOOTS sims best.
>Annette_Obrestad: ABDER 2K B.RED +16 270
#note I had a suspicion Annette was keeping an A here and setting up the A after BORED. Then again, she may have drawn it after BORED.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AACFIIL 1G FACIA +34 256
#note Best.
>Annette_Obrestad: AQT 2F QAT +39 309
#note Annette closed the board very quickly.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEILOO M1 O.IEL +23 279
#note I didn't record this exact leave, but it was something dreadful like this. ORIEL is fine.
>Annette_Obrestad: DRS N1 R.DS +18 327
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ADELOS 11B LOA. +4 283
#note How do you open the board here? Something like I12 TOAD for 15 will get immediately closed. LOAN at least gives me a shot to hit 9's. If I draw the B, I might be able to hit high scoring 5's. I am fine with LOAN.
>Annette_Obrestad: INV 12A VIN +14 341
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BDESUY H12 ..Y +6 289
#note I was one tile off of a bingo (NEBULISED). TOY is one of the plays that wins 1 in 8 if Annette does not have the S. H12 HOY for 5 is the other. I thought HOY could could be blocked without the S but it can only be partially blocked. HOY saves a bunch of spread.
>Annette_Obrestad: EEINPSW 15D WEEPS +63 404
#note WEEPS still wins with with HOY, but I could make the game very very close if I find...
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BDEESU A12 .iBE +24 313
#note NEBULISED for 76! I had under 45 seconds on my clock. I need more than that to find a blank nine, although NEBULISED is 100% findable for me if I had the time. I would CRENATION later on in the Word Cup. HOY plus NEBULISED loses by 9 points.
>Annette_Obrestad: IN B14 IN +14 418
#note Best.
>Annette_Obrestad: (DESU) +10 428
#note Final score recorded as 428-311. I actually played pretty well this game, except for the phony 4 and missing the hard to find blank 9 at the end of the game.
