>Chris_Cheng: AGZ 8G ZAG +26 26
#note 2024 World Cup. Game 30.
>Jonathan_Lindh: CFINVXY G8 .INCY +20 20
#note Very hard turn. Quackle really likes H7 CAVY for 12 here and I agree.
>Chris_Cheng: ABHS J6 BASH +29 55
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EEFTVX K5 VEX +39 59
#note Best.
>Chris_Cheng: BDEIRSU 11G .URBSIDE +76 131
#note Only bingo.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EFOOOT 10L OOF +32 91
#note Yes, I somehow drew 3 O's to FET?. I debated between J12 OOF and 10L OOF. I went with 10L because it scores mores and neutralizes the N10 triple letter/double word line that could be big. Quackle has them as almost identical but favors 10L by a tiny bit.
>Chris_Cheng: AEILR 12J AILER +32 163
#note Whoops so AILER* isn't good? This was a big swing. AIDER, AIMER, and AIRER are all good but not AILER*.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEHOOT 12C HOOT. +22 113
#note Close. HOOEY, not HOOTY.
>Chris_Cheng: EIMNV 13A VIMEN +38 201
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AAENTY 13M ANY +29 142
#note 13M ANY for 29 and 13L YA for 27 are neck and neck.
>Chris_Cheng: DIIL A11 LI.ID +30 231
#note LIVID blocked a triple triple.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEINRT E5 cRENATI.. +82 224
#note I was very pleased to find CRENATION but do you be bold and play NERVATION, knowing it takes the the E front hook? I couldn't risk it against the 5th seed in Division 1. CRENATION also sims quite a bit better than NERVATION because it gives back a lot less (in theory).
>Chris_Cheng: AFNO 8A FANO. +27 258
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEKMNUU O13 .UK +30 254
#note YUK certainly describes this draw. YUK is best.
>Chris_Cheng: ?AEEEIT 15A .ETAInEE +77 335
#note Chris told me the last tile he flipped over was the blank. We also misscored this as 80.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEMNUUW 14F UNMEW +29 283
#note Easily best again.
>Chris_Cheng: AGLLO C3 GALLO. +16 351
>Jonathan_Lindh: DDEJORU I4 UDO +9 292
#note I decided to go very out of the box here. I saw all of the standard options like JOUK, JERK, etc, at the bottom right. Then I saw JUDO at the top. Then I looked at the unseen pool again. I am holding the only hook onto UDO, and there are letters that can front hook U in the entire pool. If Chris tries and make a three letter blocking play at J2, he opens himself up to a greater chance of J bombs because he would likely be putting a vowel at J3 and there are a shortage of vowels in the pool. Quackle still likes JUDO and claims my play doesn't win at all which doesn't make since given there are 120+ J bingos possible in the pool such as JERRIDS, JEREEDS, JERREED, and JAEGERS. I still really like UDO here.
>Chris_Cheng: IQ B10 QI +33 384
#note QI's 33 points wasn't the most devastating part of it. The most devastating part of the play was that Chris played the last I and my odds of a big J play just went down massively.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEGJPRR 7B D.P.R +15 307
#note This was a horrible draw, but I think I gave up on my big J play a turn too soon. I think 4B GAP for 12 is the play, keeping my JEREEDS and JERREED hopes alive. Also, non bingo such as JARRED, JOWED, and JOWAR would still be possible. DOPER does allow one possibility GAP doesn't, JAEGERS. Not really a huge mistake given the sheer unlikelihood of winning no matter what.
>Chris_Cheng: OW D4 WO +22 406
#note GAP also prevents easy points such as this play. Then again, if I play GAP, Chris might try and neutralize the JUDO bomb in some way.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGJPRTT 3I JET +38 345
#note I cash in my J setup. I am not hitting any J bingos with my last draw.
>Chris_Cheng: ACESSTT L1 CAST +29 435
#note L1 STET for 21 is best because of the S setup.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGPRR 2J PE.G +25 370
#note 2J PEAR for 24 is 3 points better than PEAG. PEAG is 2nd.
>Chris_Cheng: EST N1 SET +22 457
#note Quackle likes slow paying in this position by 4 points.
>Chris_Cheng: (RR) +4 461
#note Final score recorded as 464-370 due to DETAINEE being overscored by 3 points. I thought this game had a lot of cool decisions.
