>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: BMU 8G BUM +14 14
>Samuel_Kaplan: AGHIIKO 9G OHIA +24 24
#note Looks good. I could also do HAIK to help set up my O, but the rest of the leave isn't promising, so I went with this. Misscored as 25.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: EFGIR 10J GRIEF +28 42
>Samuel_Kaplan: BDDGIKQ M7 BIK.D +20 44
#note First of several awful racks I've had this game. I like this play a lot since I can hit N6 QI if I redraw an I. It is worth it over exchanging.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: NSW 8L W.NS +33 75
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEGIQR N10 .AQIR +37 81
#note Looks like the clear best play.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: ?AEHIRV - +0 75
#note Not actual rack. Amika exchanged 5 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DEEGPRT M13 PEG +22 103
#note Looks good again.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: ??EILNT 15G TElLIN.s +91 166
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: ??EILNT -- -91 75
#note If Amika is going to go here, she had 15G wELTIN(G)s, fELTIN(G)s, and bELTIN(G)S for 91 each. But GILLNETS is the only valid bingo in TELLINGS*.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AADELRT 7K DA. +11 114
#note I saw but chickened out of LATERAD. That is the bad part about this position. With that said, I did not know that LATERAD does not take an S, and perhaps it might be fine to pass up 10A LATERAD on this turn knowing that Amika has an extremely good rack and will hit a 3x3 (namely she would have things like aL(L)aNITE, sI(L)ENTLy, and bu(L)LETIN available). So must I call this position a blessing in disguise? For the play I made, I chose this over N6 DA(N) as doing that will allow her bingoes into the S in WINS to actually score more. So I gave myself another bingo lane to work with knowing that Amika is bingoing somehow. I felt that the outcome might be better for me after we each have our next turn should we trade bingoes with each other and I'll still be up 40-50 points whereas that might not be the case after I play 10A LATERAD and she hits her 3x3.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: ??EILNT O1 sTENcIL. +71 146
#note Same bingoes that I referenced in her prior turn.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEGLMRT O13 GAM +27 141
#note And this is where the game fell apart. It's awful when I draw a clunky combination to a strong leave.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: CLOOSTW - +0 146
#note Not actual rack. Amika exchanged 5 tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CDELNRT 6I CRED +19 160
#note L3 DECL(AW) is fine here. #visionmedium
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: FO 5J OF +26 172
>Samuel_Kaplan: ILLNTXY 10D NIXY +38 198
#note I'm just not drawing well as you all can see. This is fine.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: CDO 11C COD +20 192
>Samuel_Kaplan: ELLNNTV -LLNV +0 198
#note Saw but hated D10 NO(VEL). I'm fine with this, and Quackle slightly prefers this too.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: IT 2M TI. +6 198
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAENRTT C11 .AT +10 208
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: HY 12B Y.H +30 228
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELNRRT A11 LARNT +29 237
#note Another rack that appears to be close to a bingo, but it's not worth fishing when I can score respectably. That 2nd R kills so many things I could have drawn.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: ISW 3L WIS. +20 248
#note That is not good news right here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEORTUU B12 .OU +19 256
#note I like this play a lot becaus I can set up bingoes starting with TR- on Row 15.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: EOV 11I VOE +20 268
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEENRTU 12J NEE +14 270
#note And now that I make yet another optimal play, I would get punished for it.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: EIRSTUV 13E VIRTUES +72 340
#note 4D REVUIST scores 3 more for her, but given how many awful racks I've had this game, this may very well do the job for her.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELORTU 4L OE +17 287
#note While I didn't see H1 TORULA with the ACRED hook, I need to bingo asap, and playing off 6 tiles is going to decrease my odds of bingoing because I can easily draw the J or Z which will actually cause me a lot of problems on this board. I also need to retain my R for Row 15 bingoes again.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: AOP H12 A.OP +21 361
>Samuel_Kaplan: AELLRTU J4 L.. +3 290
#note I was low on time, so if I had more time, I would have realized an S draw gives me 4D ESTRUAL in only one spot. Therefore, 11M DAL might be better. The problem is Amika most likely would have blocked ESTRUAL.
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: AEJNOSZ F12 S.ZE +33 394
#note That will win it for her.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEELRTU E4 ELATER.. +18 308
>Amika_Gair-MacMichael: AJNO 15D JO. +18 412
#note Since once again I was low on time, I got rid of as many tiles as I could. However, Amika could have U-stuck me with something as simple as 7E T(O)!
>Samuel_Kaplan: U 7D U. +2 310
#note All righty...this one was a clunker. One of those games where basically nothing went my way. The only true mistake I can really think of is missing DECLAW. The LATERAD position by convention would have went against me regardless if I bingo or not. Great game Amika! She may have outdrawn me, but she also played very well. I tip my hat to her and I hope she wins more games against this tough division. Final score was recorded as 412-315. 0-1 -97. I guess it's good to get the bad ones out of the way early on, but I still have an uphill battle to face.
