>Richard_Popper: AEIMV 8D MAVIE +26 26
#note It is not exactly ideal to be in a position where not only must I win, but Froilan must lose in order for me to win the tournament. But here we are. Win this one and I get at least 2nd.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACDIOOS F6 CO.ID +21 21
#note This one came to mind just because we all went through such an era! If I had seen D8 (M)ODICA, I would have played it just because I keep better and I score an extra point. #findingsmall
>Richard_Popper: TW G7 W.T +23 49
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAOQSTZ 11C QATS +38 59
#note Looks good. This and I5 QATS are the only ways to get the annoying Q out of the way.
>Richard_Popper: ENRU C11 .UERN +28 77
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACFIOYZ 15C .AZIFY +66 125
#note Yup. And I would have been crazy to try CONAZIFY* as a 3x3 because Richard would have smacked that off the board real quick. Let's just say it would have ended up in the Milky Way.
>Richard_Popper: FH D10 F.H +28 105
>Samuel_Kaplan: CEHLOST I2 CLOTHES +75 200
#note Mhm
>Richard_Popper: VW E7 V.W +24 129
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DGINRR 14F GI +19 219
#note I will admit that I only looked for bingoes here and missed 4C GRiDIR(O)N. However, the DENAZIFY extension was another missed play that could have potentially cost me this game on a much larger scale. 15A De(NAZIFY)ING is easily the play despite keeping an unideal leave of RR. Richard told me after the game that he was unsure of NAZIFY but let it go, which he correctly did.
>Richard_Popper: GO 13G GO +14 143
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?DNRRRS -DRRR +0 219
#note Once again, 15A De(NAZIFY)!
>Richard_Popper: ?EILNRS 12H LINgERS +67 210
#note And that same play making the blank a different letter is apparently fine. If he draws an E to his leave of ILNRS, he's right back in this one.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?EILNSU K5 EvULSIN. +74 293
#note Are you kidding me again with DENAZIFY?!?!
>Richard_Popper: AGP J10 PA.G +25 235
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABRRTX L3 RAX +29 322
#note Nothing particularly exciting here. Looks fine.
>Richard_Popper: ALNOORT N5 ORTOLAN. +62 297
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABORTUY O8 YOB +45 367
#note Not bad to take out this hotspot. O1 OUTBY is a little better, small mistake.
>Richard_Popper: OOP 3G PO.O +9 306
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADDJRTU M10 JU.AT +38 405
#note Looks like the clear best play. Look at all those unseen Es though!
>Richard_Popper: ABDEEEU - +0 306
#note Not actual rack. Richard exchanged 3 tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADDMRRU 4C MUDRA +20 425
#note More blocking after his small exchange.
>Richard_Popper: EEK 3A EKE +22 328
#note Nice play to try to distract me.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABDEENR O1 BREAD +30 455
#note While I was correct to leave Column A alone because there are no 3x3s he can potentially hit, DENAZIFY again! We both missed that extension all game!
>Richard_Popper: DEEIINT 15A DE...... +72 400
#note Until he finally hit it! I held but correctly accepted this because I didn't want to risk losing the game knowing I couldn't go out. Misscored as 75.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEIN M2 NEE +12 467
#note Looks fine.
>Richard_Popper: EIINT A11 TEII. +7 407
#note He can go out there with A10 TINEI(D).
>Samuel_Kaplan: I 14M .I +4 471
#note Lots of drama with the DENAZIFY extention the whole game but other than that, well played for the most part and I would go on to take 2nd as Froilan killed it his last game. Final score was recorded as 473-410. 5-2 +379 and I'm back at it on the 18th in Newtown, CT.
>Samuel_Kaplan: (N) +2 473
