>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEGIOR 8D DOGIE +18 18
#note I have not played Kevin in years with the last time being at the Wilmington club back in the summer of 2017. So I figured that I would just play my game. GEOID makes parallels harder, but this gives back less overall. So I went with this.
>Kevin_Nai: ?AEEMPV D1 rEVAMPE. +80 80
#note This is his only bingo and is a nice find.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEIRRY 1A CAR.Y +27 45
#note I did not see E4 RYA. That looks fine. CARRYOVER is a possible extension, but a bowling term of CARRYDOWN* is not. #visionsmall
>Kevin_Nai: DIOO 3C O.OID +22 102
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEGIRTW E3 .WE +25 70
#note Maybe E3 OWIE is a little better. I wouldn't be too concerned about opening up F6 after 2F is already open.
>Kevin_Nai: ANOR F6 OR.AN +10 112
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAFGIRT 9F .FRIT +24 94
#note ORGAN looked like a very aggressive play to me. I was hoping to get more space going while I hoped he drew terribly after he drew 4 tiles.
>Kevin_Nai: ?EINSTV 11E VaINEST +92 204
#note He drew very well and I think this is better than K5 INVESTs positionally. The odds of winning this game are not great. But don't count me out just yet. I have come back from down 100+ before.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAEEEGO 12K OGEE +12 106
#note This draw won't help my odds in many, many cases. OGEE over AGEE since I need a big bingo on Column O to have any chance.
>Kevin_Nai: ITW 13K WIT +25 229
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACEINX 2F XENIA +58 164
#note Definitely doing this over XENIC since I keep better and As are possible to reparallel unlike Cs. Best play.
>Kevin_Nai: BSU 1G BUS +29 258
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACEHST 6B HA. +16 180
#note I did not know 3I CHAETA, which scores 41. Yes, this play is aggressive, but Kevin needs to sacrifice many points to block that I might be able to capitalize on this latest setup.
>Kevin_Nai: AEHMOTU - +0 258
#note Not actual rack. Kevin exchanged 7 tiles here.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACEOST A6 COAT +29 209
#note Not a great draw, but I can at least score a respectable amount while keeping well and opening up Column B.
>Kevin_Nai: AEGLNRS 14E ANGLERS +69 327
#note He did this here instead of at O6 because he wasn't sure if OGEE took an S. I would make him pay for it.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEKLNSY O6 ALKYNES +102 311
#note And I hit one of the volatile lanes I made!
>Kevin_Nai: ABEJNTZ - +0 327
#note And he challenged the play. I am right back in this game!
>Samuel_Kaplan: EJMPRTU N2 TRUMP +40 351
#note And who would have thought I would be taking a lead this game? I did not see the MANGLERS hook, which is why I did not play D12 JUMP. But it's worth noting that perhaps Kevin didn't keep the Z when he challenged ALKYNES, otherwise he might have been more inclined to accept the play and score 60+ himself. Since this pool has some high pointers remaining, I didn't love my odds of bingoing keeping ERT after doing N3 JUMP. So I decided to go the scoring route knowing I would score nicely with the J next turn. I can draw 5-letter J plays on Row 15, or I can even draw JOE or JEE at O1 as a backup.
>Kevin_Nai: FILLR 15A FRILL +29 356
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEHIJOU O1 JOE +34 385
#note No, I was not trying to give our current president and predecessor shoutouts.
>Kevin_Nai: Q C14 Q. +11 367
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABDHIIU J6 HAU. +15 400
#note A slightly better endgame would have been to do J6 HIA(T)U(S) for 19 then I go out with 3I BID for 19. But this still gets the job done because I ignored his best play of B8 DOZEN.
>Kevin_Nai: DENOTUZ B8 DOZEN +40 407
#note This is the best he can do.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BDII 3I BIDI +20 420
#note Don't ever count me out, people. I will play the entire game. 2-1 -38. Thanks to Ed Roth and his roommate Bernie for providing tortilla soup for lunch!
>Samuel_Kaplan: (TU) +4 424
