#note I need to step it up right now because Ken is another very good player. I'm hoping to end Saturday on a good note. This gives the least back to him and looks nice.
>Kenneth_Rubin: AEENOOT -EOO +0 0
#note Thanks to him for providing his rack for this one! I'm fine with this one as VOE gives back so many points.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEEFNW I6 WA.ED +14 32
#note I opted for this over FAVE after his exchange 3. And this was done over the G6 placement because an S is possible, and this forces a fair amount of bingoes to open up a 3x3 for me.
>Kenneth_Rubin: AEEGLNT H1 TANGLE +32 32
#note Looks good. Scores a respectable amount.

#note E3 P(L)EURAE is 3 more and was missed. AO isn't that great on this board. #findingmedium
>Kenneth_Rubin: CEEGILT H10 ELEGIT +27 81
#note Looks good.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAEHOOS J10 HAO +29 104
#note Can I draw some more balanced racks please?
>Kenneth_Rubin: AACDDNY K11 DYAD +29 110
#note Looks like the clear best play again.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEHOSTU 12A TEAHOUS. +74 178
#note There we go. I'm happy to have found this one and that it stayed open.
>Kenneth_Rubin: ABCENSY 11C BAY +35 145
>Samuel_Kaplan: EMMNNRZ 13B MM +30 208
#note Yep. I get to save my only vowel and score well.
>Kenneth_Rubin: CEENOSW 15K SCONE +40 185
#note K4 EW is nice because CENOS bingoes a lot, but this is fine too for 18 more.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ENNRUUZ 14F ZE.N +33 241
#note I did not think you could UNTUNE something, which does play at A10 saving the Z. That would have freed up a good deal of clunk. #knowledgelarge
>Kenneth_Rubin: EGIORWX K4 EX +38 223
#note N10 WIGEO(N) scores nicely for him and saves the X. I like that play a lot.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BJNORUU M10 JOURN. +26 267
#note 14M JUN is fine. I was too focused on turnover when I didn't need to be.
>Kenneth_Rubin: GIIOPRW L1 GRIP +28 251
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABIRTU A12 .UBA +25 292
#note Finally those Us are gone!
>Kenneth_Rubin: ?IOQSTW -IQW +0 251
>Samuel_Kaplan: AFIIRTT F2 FR.T +15 307
#note Now it's time to guess which lane to block. I chose this one over Column O to set up my A for AFRIT plays. Also, I did FRIT over FRITT as I keep better and protect myself better against drawing more Is.
>Kenneth_Rubin: ?IORSST O8 cROSSTI. +74 325
#note While I did block things like dISTOR(T)S on Row 1, this scores more for him anyway. Nice find!
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADIIIRT 1L .ADI +18 325
#note And now I'm in pretty big trouble. I cannot afford to sacrifice points for leave and most of my best scoring options empty the bag. I hated to give up my A which I thought was my best tile, but the problem is Ken can block my Row 1 plays with E1 QI, which I thought was his easiest path to victory. Per Championship Player, this move wins the most often at 35.30%.
>Kenneth_Rubin: ?EILNQW D1 Qu..N +23 348
#note It turns out, Ken has no winning plays! Not even E1 QI wins for him because after that, my only winning play is 2L (R)IOT threatening to play out with E4 (L)IKER which he can't block without giving me another out play. For instance, if he does E4 (L)EWd, he gives me 7A IRKE(d) to play out. After E4 (L)aWN, he gives me REI(N)K for a 2 point win!
>Samuel_Kaplan: EIIKORT M3 TORII +22 347
#note This is 1 of 3 winning plays for me. Ken's only 2 ways to block my only out play of E4 (L)EK is to play E4 LEI or E4 LIE (because if he just does LI, then I go out with LIKE) then I block his only out play of 15A (A)WL with 14A (B)E and then go out with my K.
After E4 (L)IKER, Ken blocks (R)IOT with something like N1 (D)EW, but then I can outscore him with B12 (EM)IT and he can't score enough going out with IL to outrun EMIT.
After B12 (EM)IT, Ken's best scoring option is once again N1 (D)EW and then I can score enough with E4 (L)IKER to outrun his out plays.
>Kenneth_Rubin: EILW 14A .E +18 366
>Samuel_Kaplan: EK E4 .EK +20 367
#note While going out is better for spread purposes, I did not even think of the fact that I could have W-stuck him with E11 YOK!! This is WILD STUFF!!!!! That felt nice to solve this complicated endgame and overcome getting outdrawn this time. What a grindout this was and now let's enjoy dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse. 7-4 +114.
