>Edwin_Roth: JOW 8G JOW +26 26
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEEILNT J8 LEE +19 19
#note Looks good. Could also do J6 EEL but this was more open for my liking. I definitely could use some spread.
>Edwin_Roth: NO H8 .NO +3 29
#note That was very interesting when he could have just as easily played 9G ON for 15.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EFIINST K2 FINITES +85 104
#note Well that's going to help my case for getting some spread. And NIFTIES gives back the J6 hotspot, so I went with this.
>Edwin_Roth: ADELMNO 5E MELANO.D +72 101
#note Or he can bingo right back. Nice find Ed!
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEGNQU 6B QUEAN +44 148
#note I saw 3I QU(I)NCE but was unsure of it. I keep forgetting it's QUINCE and not QUINCY*. #knowledgelarge
>Edwin_Roth: AP 6I AP. +23 124
>Samuel_Kaplan: CEGILNY 3G GLYC.NE +38 186
#note Too bad GLYCINE doesn't play as a bingo. It's close with H1 LYCE(A) in terms of balancing points and equity, but I opted for the points while I'm ahead and I wasn't too keen on prospects for gerund bingoes on the resulting board. Sim slightly prefers GLYCINE to LYCEA meaning a valid argument could be made for both plays.
>Edwin_Roth: DIU H1 DU.I. +21 145
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABIOPRZ 4D ZAP +38 224
#note Looks fine without giving him anything new to work with.
>Edwin_Roth: AEV L1 VA.E. +35 180
#note Nice fit.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?BEEIOR 1A REBOIlE. +83 307
#note Or REBOdIE(D) in the same spot. Still nice to not let my foot off the gas.
>Edwin_Roth: IKRU B6 .UIRK +28 208
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEGNOTT A8 TAO +23 330
#note Preferred to take this massive hotspot instead of making the slightly more fishy play of G8 JOT.
>Edwin_Roth: IX 2B XI +40 248
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADEGLNT C9 TANGLED +81 411
#note Yep
>Edwin_Roth: ACS 1L .ACS +27 275
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ADEGRS 14B D.GREASe +72 483
#note Played it safe with taking out 3x3s, but 15C (D)EGRADeS would have addressed it directly while scoring 13 more. No 3x3s were missed, but spread still matters. Also misscored as 70. #findingmedium
>Edwin_Roth: T C1 ..T +10 285
>Samuel_Kaplan: FHIOORW 15G HOWF +54 537
#note Best play.
>Edwin_Roth: I F1 .I +3 288
>Samuel_Kaplan: IMORRUV 12A VU. +11 548
>Edwin_Roth: BEIORST 11I BROIEST +72 360
>Samuel_Kaplan: HIMORRY - +0 548
#note Unfortunately, I did not come across this one while studying the new words and ended up challenging this. This cost me way too much spread. I could have just played the highest scoring move I found which was O8 YIRTH for 45 and gotten some stuff off my rack. Instead, a huge gap in word knowledge was just exposed and this was a massive point swing right there. Very bad challenge on my end.
>Edwin_Roth: T L11 .T +4 364
#note M1 (A)T(E) plays for 5 more here. Well played game until BROIEST. 5-2 +314. Final score was recorded as 546-394. Time for a nice lunch break after an overall respectable first half of Saturday.
>Edwin_Roth: (HIMORRY) +30 394
