#player2 Samuel_Kaplan Samuel Kaplan
>Edwin_Roth: ADFJOTW -DFJOW +0 0
#note Not actual rack. Ed exchanged 5 tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABHINOO 8E BOHO +18 18
#note This was intentionally chosen over HOBO because of the SEMIHOBO extension, which I'm not even close to having.
>Edwin_Roth: IO 9G OI +11 11
>Samuel_Kaplan: AFIINOU 10D INFO +21 39
#note Looks fine. 21 is worth it over exchanging down to AN even after his fishy play.
>Edwin_Roth: AA 11E AA +13 24
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIIKNOU 12B IKON +19 58
#note How do I have almost the same rack as last turn?! Maybe just I9 KOI is fine. I'm lucky he didn't punish me harder with the EIKON hook which I didn't even think of tbh. #findinglarge
>Edwin_Roth: EGG A12 EGG +16 40
#note This will be dealt with accordingly. This was misscored as 15.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIILPTU 14A .UILT +12 70
#note EGG screamed S setup to me. I didn't think he had a Y because Y hooks didn't previously exist on this board before EGGY. I hated this position too but how else do I stop Ed from getting so many on his next turn?
>Edwin_Roth: ?GINORS 15E ORiGINS +73 113
#note And my intuition was correct- he did have an S as well as a blank. Wonderful. But I'm lucky he missed SOaRING for 7 more. Not a promising start.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABDEIPS K10 BIPED. +22 92
>Edwin_Roth: OZ F6 ZO. +32 145
>Samuel_Kaplan: AILLQSU 13I QU.LL +48 140
#note I did not know SQUILLA, which is the bingo on this rack. While that would not have stopped him from bingoing next turn, it would have made this one more interesting. I did see L8 QUASI, but I really need to both score and bingo. QUELL basically makes it a tie game and LL is an awful leave on this board. #knowledgemedium
>Edwin_Roth: DEENRST N7 TENDERS +77 222
#note It wouldn't have mattered if I bingoed because he has several places to bingo.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAIRSTU 8L UR.A +15 155
#note Another rough position. I needed to keep the BOHOS hook open and somehow balance my rack. Doing O7 AR is bad without an E and anything reasonable takes out Column L. I can't afford to do L12 A(L)A as Ed just takes Column O and ends the game on the spot as Column I bingoes won't score enough to get back in the game after that.
>Edwin_Roth: DEMR 7I DERM +13 235
#note I guess I still have a chance?
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACISTUW 6I AW +29 184
#note What is with all these untimely draws? Now I have to hope that Ed can't stop me from opening up Column H. This time, I can't afford to pass up 14 points with 6D WU(Z). If I don't take this spot, he will without giving me a new lane to work with.
>Edwin_Roth: ACDE 5I DACE +25 260
#note Nice block.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CINSSTU L2 CUT. +12 196
#note M2 CUTS is better equity, but I think Ed would have addressed the S hook I'm setting up rather effectively. Not sure what I should have done here.
>Edwin_Roth: AEHRV 1K HAVER +44 304
#note He got this spot pretty good while still leaving the U open. This was misscored as 40.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EINPSSY M3 PIS +28 224
#note Ss literally mean nothing on this board at this point. I'll cash in my Y eventually and then bingo asap.
>Edwin_Roth: FI L11 FI. +25 329
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEENRSY A12 ...Y +27 251
>Edwin_Roth: AJM 9B JAM +17 346
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEENRS 2J RE. +12 263
#note If Ed doesn't have an E, maybe I have a chance. Only real hope now.
>Edwin_Roth: NOX N1 .XON +30 376
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AAEENS 6F .A +11 274
#note I liked my chances of hitting STANdEE, SENsATE, ENoLASE, etc by drawing the L or T as well as ENSlAVE with a V draw. The problem with a V draw is Ed doesn't have as much clunk to deal with. If Ed does not have an E to block my row 3 bingoes with something like 3I YE, then he might be afraid to empty the bag by simply doing 4L TINY or TINT. His options that empty the bag won't score that well for him with a rack of ILTTTVW or ITTTVWY. Even with those crummy racks, he can withstand an out bingo from me. So if he empties the bag and I bingo out, it still falls just short. Therefore, there is no path to victory for me.
>Edwin_Roth: EWY O4 YEW +24 400
#note And that's a winner for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AEELNS 3D ENoLASE +60 334
#note Holy crap I misscored this as 68 myself. At least I cut the spread, but this is another frustrating loss that totally vaporized my quality 3-0 start. Final score was recorded as 395-360 because we both didn't add well. 3-3 -66.
