#note something to be said for the bingo defense of DOVETAIL, but I think the 3 points are worth it, the board is very open either way and VIOLATED does give me better options after josh takes A8. fwiw Josh averages 55 after VIOLATED.
>Josh: IOQRRSU A7 QU.I +39 103
#note QUAI only bingoes slightly less than QUA, so looks worth playing, but LIQUOR seems like the best play - bingoes more but averages almost 9 more, drawing into better scoring tiles and better non-bingo options. this board really demands good, flexible tiles that lean into bingoing. LIQUOR sims around 2-3 ahead

#note close with NORTH, but this does keep things a bit more open
>Jackson: CCEIMRU 4G C.ECUM +24 203
#note fuck, spent most of my turn looking for words cause I had the strong feeling I was missing something. URAEMIC is 44 and of course the best play. I didnt see HUMIC for 24 either, or UMIAC for 18. I liked CAECUM to close the top left, I could do it at K6 as well and hope for an exhausting play on the 4 or 5 row, but those don't score too well so I don''t mind the restrictive straat. Still, on this board it still pays to be aggressive, HUMIC looks better than CAECUM. Apparently I average 54 after HUMIC.

#note problem with Z(E)D is it blocks potential opening plays in that spot for later.
>Jackson: DIIORTY 11K TIDY +34 237
>Josh: ADHNOPR 5K HARP +32 199
#note Doesnt sim as well as just HIP for 29, or HOP, but this does make a nice aggressiv ethreat at O1
>Jackson: GIIIORT B3 TORII +18 255
#note Now cause of HARP, I am inclined to make another opening - either he takes HARPS/HARPY now and I have another spot to counter with, or he takes A1 and I could potentially draw an S or Y, or at least have a better rack next turn to play at the bottom with. The problem here is if he has a HARP hook but still plays at a1 and I don't draw a hook myself, which could open the door to him taking both spots. TOR(I)I for 25 was the other consideration, and maybe I do that to just run and open he doesnt hit O1 too hard. I was hoping he would have to make a big sacrifice to play at A1. GRIOT for 22 was the other consideration, blockin the biggest lane.

#note This sims best, just ahead of RENIG, the I would be nice but there are tons of vowels in the pool so I wanted to keep the consonants, and the R is case.

#note seems like the right idea... I will need a blank soon.
>Josh: ??ADOUX N2 XU +38 379
>Jackson: AEGLPRS 13C GRAPE +25 389
#note The main two options I considered here were PEAG and GRAPE. The other parallels on the 13 row like EGAL don't let me counter bingo as well, and playing too few tiles is a bit of a nonstarter because I need to reach for a blank. My worry with PEAG is that bingoes making AGS or AGO are super defensive and don't let me counter bingo, but I can alweays draw something with -ST or -SE, and that's quite a few words. He also only bingoes 50% of the time, and when he doesn't bingo, his position is quite a bit harder. 2 tiles in the bag, it is not as trivial to outrun, and he can't always overlap PEAG defensively while outscoring consistently, since he has to be careful not to make a big hook at H14. I decided to play GRAPE because I wanted the extra chance at the blank, it lets him bingo immediately far less, and I was hoping to just race to the bingo and hit first. However, the problem with grape is 13K plays that block my bingoes, and since I am leaving just 1 tile in the bag, he can often make those plays as an out in two, so GRAPE ends up just nullifying both our bingo chances while not preserving very good outrunning chances. PEAG looks like the play here
