#note regular sim at 4 ply says this is a 14-point mistake over playing TAUNTER U on the star, allowing FAINTI(N)G for 66, and playing the position being up a tempo with decent options. However, the position is way more complex than that. If I go ahead a move, input Dean's position and my exact leave, his best-simming response is to play IF for 10 rather than FATING for 28. That reduces my chances of getting a bingo down from around 70 to 60%, and increases his chances to 60, though this is mainly due to what I would open with my own bingo. There's more to consider here, based mainly on what I expected Dean to play after my exchange (which was what he indeed played). My thinking was that my rack, even without the playable bingo, was stronger than his, and that I was likeliest to bingo first. Still, these numbers seem to prove that my thinking was off about the strength of my leave, and that I was basically risking improving Dean's position by not playing my bingo immediately, and putting us in a similar position to TAUNTER + FAINTING, except with Dean having scored points and me having not. There could have been a moral imperative here that caused me not to play TAUNTER, such that I thought I should not have to give Dean a free pass. There is something to be said about complicating the position, certainly, but I don't believe at this point that it was worth it. I'm also complicating things for myself.

#note I do get the first bingo down as desired. I didn't want to play UT last turn, since the position after UT + FIG/GUT was really unconducive to getting a bingo down. Still, this positioning is quite unideal.

#note the complications have arrived. I considered D8 C(R)AMS, B12 MAX as well as this. I figured my S might have some recursive value, but that C(R)AMS seemed ideal leave-wise. I hated facilitating so many positions by hanging the I hook with B12 MAX. I briefly considered SAX/FIGS as well. I ultimately went with this, but was not satisfied. Quackle thinks this is a 5-point mistake. #questionable

#note definitely a lucky draw. I never considered XI B6, which appears to be consistent with my previous play to keep the S. #findingsmall

>Josh_: AEGHISS N3 GASH +56 354
#note lucky as hell. I can also consider playing GASHES in the same spot, which is really good, as only an O hooks onto the S, and if he immediately does that, it's hard to imagine him going out with 4. GASHES seems like it might actually outrun better. #questionable
>Dean_Saldanha: ESZ O6 SEZ +44 307
>Josh_: BEIRSTV 14G R.V +8 362
#note this was really bad, since I totally missed the F in FINNIER as a possible bingo lane. A number of things play through that F and score more than the ones through the E I am playing through. I lose 2/3 times any of MANFULLY, ARTFULLY, SULFONYL or UNFAIRLY are played, luckily escaping if Dean draws the V, since he is stuck. I barely escape if he plays NOVELLA 2E. This might still be correct, since it does block the E, but it was not nearly as airtight as I thought. I figured (O)BITS 12A would be enough to outrun anything.
