>Samuel_Kaplan: AAGIJLL 8G JILL +22 22
#note Not sure why 8F JAIL wins the sim with how much that gives back up top, although I sorely need spread at this juncture. I probably would have given more thought to doing that if I was playing someone who plays more open than Dave does.
>Dave_Engelhardt: LOOT 9E LOOT +17 17
#note LOTO plays 1 spot to the right for 4 more points.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AAGLNR 10D RANG +24 46
#note K2 RAGLANs is not hard to spot. That's just a bad miss. Although I also missed a much harder to spot bingo of E2 LARyNGA(L), RANG actually does not sim that far back of LARyNGA(L). This was chosen over LANG because I have the last L and I set up the ORANG hook which Dave might not spot.
>Dave_Engelhardt: AIRTU J3 RITAU. +8 25
>Dave_Engelhardt: AIRTU -- -8 17
#note He meant to play RITUAL but transposed the A and U.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?AFLOPV E8 F..VA +22 68
#note Looks great. After Dave played off all 1-pointers, he most likely had other 1-pointers as well. With his partial rack specified, this move comes out on top well ahead of moves like E8 F(LA)P and J7 F(L)OP because it scores more than most other decent options, dumps the V, forks the board with a blank in hand, and I have earlier cracks at the Z. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to potentially rack up spread with the impression that Dave did not have any good scoring tiles.
>Dave_Engelhardt: AIRTU J3 RITUA. +8 25
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ELNOPP 4E PEOPL.Ng +78 146
#note Only bingo. I remember not seeing PEOPLED years ago, so I knew this was good.
>Dave_Engelhardt: HISW H1 WHI.S +39 64
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACGIIKM 5D KAMI. +36 182
#note Well, it's a little too soon for this to be good! This didn't even get held.
>Dave_Engelhardt: ?AENSTU 11G SiNUATE +74 138
#note 13C UNSTAtE does score 4 more, but this is also much more aggressive when he needs to bingo again to catch up.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACGIRU 12A GUAI.C +22 204
#note Mhm. I need spread, he has a random rack, and both blanks are on the board. So I was getting some bad tiles off my rack and not playing this turn scared.
>Dave_Engelhardt: DMOO 3C DOOM +26 164
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABDEIRS A7 ABRID.ES +86 290
#note And it actually paid off nicely. Good things happen when I play the right way.
>Dave_Engelhardt: ENV C11 N.VE +14 178
#note Good move again.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BEEQRTX J10 Q.EER +36 326
#note Was definitely nervous about the Q despite 10I EX being 16 more. Quackle has that much higher in the valuation than I would have thought just because I didn't love my Q prospects after EX. When in doubt, get rid of it because the X can be used in many more places on this board. And I'm still almost 100% to win, so might as well play a better 2-move score.
>Dave_Engelhardt: ENTY L11 .ENTY +24 202
>Samuel_Kaplan: BINTXYZ 2B ZIT +29 355
>Dave_Engelhardt: ADR 15L .ARD +24 226
>Samuel_Kaplan: ABCNOXY H11 .XNAY +66 421
#note 1 letter off from CARBOXYL throught the appropriate floaters! This is still a no-brainer.
>Dave_Engelhardt: FU N13 FU. +12 238
>Samuel_Kaplan: BCEEOOT O8 BOOTEE +32 453
#note Yea, time to take out bingoes with SINUATED and SINUATES. I should be able to outrun things like WEIRDOES and the much higher scoring WEIGHERS on Row 1.
>Dave_Engelhardt: DEEHIRS B14 HE +22 260
>Samuel_Kaplan: CEGIOW B5 COW +15 468
#note B5 OWIE nets me 4 more spread points assuming he goes out with 7H DE(A)IRS. But I eventually decided against that because I would then be C-stuck. In fact, this is the best way I can dispose of the C.
>Dave_Engelhardt: DEIRS L1 RID.ES +7 267
#note And he would have slow-played me with 15H YE then 15G DYE then 15G DYES then score with his other 2 tiles while all I can do is dump my G if I had done OWIE. Well done for the most part and I'm right back in this tournament. 2-2 +86.
