>David_Weisberg: GILORTU 8D GLOUT +16 16
#note Not bad but not the best. 8G OUTRIG, which I missed, is about 3.5 ahead of GLOUT. 8D GUILT and GUIRO for 16 are about 2 points behind OUTRIG. Nothing will be great here but I don't have much objection to OUTRIG.
>Barry_Keith: BDOY F6 DO.BY +23 23
#note It's no good! Only DOOBIE or BOODY.
>David_Weisberg: AAIPRRR 10B ARRA. +10 26
#note As in my game in the main event with Richard Popper, SPARRY came into play. In that game Richard opened with it with Y on the star, and I later hooked it. Here, I have the option to play it, hoping he might not know the hook, but it's not worth the risk, especially while not holding S. I like the next suggestion of 10B PIRAYA for 17, which sims slightly ahead of my play. Though PARRY sims a point better than both, I have no reason to take a risk like that just yet.
>Barry_Keith: OOZ 9B ZOO +31 54
>David_Weisberg: EGIIPRT 11D PI +19 45
#note Best, mostly because there aren't a lot of great options in general
>Barry_Keith: JO E5 JO +21 75
>David_Weisberg: AEGIRRT 12E RIG +7 52
#note B9 ZAG 13 sims 10 points better, while 12E RAGI sims less than half a point behind. Barry, being slightly ahead, may try to block bingos next turn, playing down from the T, but would score little. Then again, nothing scores much on this board without an S or a bingo. Quackle thinks I bingo 59% of the time after ZAG, compared to about 39% after RIG or RAGI. Almost any play is kind of a fishing play in this position. Given how different a human might react to ZAG, I'm not quite convinced it's better. He also just played off two tiles himself though, so he may be close to a bingo of hiis own, but it could also be defense from a bad rack.

>Barry_Keith: AEP 10J PEA +25 139
>David_Weisberg: DFIINTU 13A UNFIT +20 143
#note Sims evenly M10 TRIFID 26, which seems riskier to me. After PEA I don't think he is holding the Q, but he could be close to a bingo rack. The other big tile that could hurt a lot on the triple, the J, is already played. He'd have to have several scoring tiles to do much there, which his play gives little indication of.
>Barry_Keith: CLT A12 C.LT +27 166
>David_Weisberg: DIILSSS J3 SILDS +22 165
#note J5 SIS 17 sims almost 3 points better. I'm not sure I realized just how many E's were still left, which greatly help the DILS leave. I'm supposed to bingo 37% of the time after SIS vs. 30% for SILDS. I do like SIS better because even though I have to show I have another S, I don't need to float one of them so openly, and I'm much more likely to hook ARBITER than Barry is, so I should probably want a bit more of a closed board, to go along with my likelier bingo chances after SIS.

>Barry_Keith: EEK M2 EEK +18 207
>David_Weisberg: DEENSSV N7 VENDS +23 212
#note Ouch. This sims way behind the top performing play, N11 SEV 16. It's a difference of over18 points. With both blanks unseen and Barry having just played three tiles, I'm a little more inclined to think he has one of them, so I figured I'd made him work for his bingo, while scoring to get just slightly ahead and give myself more chances to draw one of the blanks. With JQXZ all played, the triple opened by VENDS didn't look like a big threat, though there's still stuff like CHEW or WHEY.

#note Nothing else scores close.
>Barry_Keith: TTY J10 ..TTY +18 249
#note Two phony 5s in one game! I have work to do. I thought this looked funny but it didn't seem too threatening, and I had just drawn some nice stuff.

>Barry_Keith: AEL N13 ALE +10 294
#note There's a jump in his score on my sheet from 279 to 292, and for that and the next play the word isn't written down. I must have accidentally given him 13 for NE, but it didn't matter. He had also underscored himself by a total of 2 on other turns, so net 8 point error. Final scored recorded as 378-304.
