#note Wellington Janniversary Round 4

Vs my nemesis from Whangarei - I beat him on spread there, but was still 0-2 head to head going into this one, wanted it :)
>Lawson_Sue: AFRT 7J FART +16 16
>Chris_Tallman: AADEIST L3 DATA.IES +70 94
#note This is the most defensive bingo I think, especially scoring defense.
>Lawson_Sue: EIOOT 10H OTIO.E +8 24
>Chris_Tallman: ABEILMU 11C BULEMIA +76 170
>Chris_Tallman: ABEILMU -- -76 94
#note I now have BUMELIA seared into my brain - even recently bingoed with it in the Mondaily. I played the phony instantly to project confidence; I likely would have thought better of it if I'd taken a bit of time, as I saw AMEBA (33) next to DATARIES as a decenr backup option.
>Lawson_Sue: AHNU 3J HU.NA +18 42
#note Blocking AMEBA and some other plays there. causing me to burn my clock.
>Chris_Tallman: ABEILMU K3 .MU +18 112
#note I'm not sure semi-fishing is a good idea given the score and lack of floaters - the sim is liking plays like LABIUM atop HUDNA to score and block a bit more. I was on tilt a bit after my phony came off though and I think I wanted another bingo ASAP.
>Lawson_Sue: EGIINRS 11D GIRNIES +72 114
#note GIRNIE only takes an R, wow. (Spoilers) - I let 165 points worth of phonies go this game in 5-point challenge...
>Chris_Tallman: ABDDEIL 2D ADDIBLE +74 186
>Chris_Tallman: ADEEKOU (challenge) +5 191
#note At least I hit my somewhat ill-advised fish with UMU. I could tell Lawson thought this was phony for sure with the way he instachallenged. I got $5 for this play for the "weird spelling" spot prize.
>Lawson_Sue: ?ELOZ 1A LEzZO +93 207
#note He had GLOZE or CLOZE there anyway, so I assumed this was good too. Nope, lol.
>Chris_Tallman: ADEEKOU 1G KOA +41 232
>Lawson_Sue: GS D1 ..GS +28 235
>Chris_Tallman: DEELPRU 12B PRUDE +27 259
#note ZAGS blocked some nice underlaps with ZAP, and didn't open anywhere for PRELUDE. PRUDE seemed pretty scoring-defensive - lots of options are simming closely and Quackle doesn't consider defense enough, so I'm liking my choice.
>Lawson_Sue: CHRT M9 R.TCH +25 260
#note I escaped ROTCH/GIRNIEST for 40 (Lawson may have passed up RATCH (36) through HUDNA to not open the triple line on purpose).

>Chris_Tallman: EELNOTT 13H TELET.ON +62 321
#note RETCH also gave me the H I needed for TELETHON, a word I'd just played a few days prior in Hamilton club. Good thing too, because I'd have likely missed TENTPOLE if I needed to see it.
>Lawson_Sue: MPV N2 V.MP +22 282
#note Lawson hasn't played a vowel in 3 turns, unlucky.
>Chris_Tallman: BEEGIOS O8 BIOGE. +30 351
#note I thought a bit about whether BEGONY/BEGONIES was a thing, but trying that risks the game - happy I didn't do anything stupid on this turn.
>Lawson_Sue: AQ E9 QA.. +14 296
>Chris_Tallman: AEINSUX C3 AUXIN +34 385
#note I'm setting up AUXINS and also making it very hard for Lawson to bingo twice. With a slightly smaller lead I may have played TUX (30) or AX at the top (38) to try to counterbingo. I spent mostn of my remaining time on this move, but I'm happy with the resulting choice, and the sim agrees.
>Lawson_Sue: FO 3F OF +26 322
>Chris_Tallman: EEEINSW 14C WEENIES +66 451
#note I'm not sure if bingoing is correct from a win % perspective as there's a small chance Lawson can hit a 100+ pointer with 5-6 underlaps and catch me with the J, W, Y and I can lose. However, this is a short tournament and I've already lost one - so spread matters and I decided to amp mine up.
>Lawson_Sue: ?ILNORY 6N YO +36 358
#note I did draw the J and W and Lawson was shuffling intensely, so I was happy to see this finally come down.
>Chris_Tallman: JRW K12 J.W +13 464
>Lawson_Sue: ?ILNR B6 LINeR +14 372
#note BIOGENIc is the best play by 3 spread even though it doesn't go out, kinda cool.
>Lawson_Sue: (R) +2 374
