>Nick_Ascroft: LUU H6 ULU +6 6
#note Wellington Janniversary Round 3
>Chris_Tallman: AADEOPX G5 AXE +23 23
#note I chickened out of the PULU hook (POXED for 36). My play of AXE is quite scoring defensive though, and I was hyper-aware of the existence and missability of the SAXE hook since I missed it in a Whangarei game, so I was hoping Nick would oversee it as well.
>Nick_Ascroft: ADL 8G D.AL +17 23
#note Nick creates another potential hook I'm unsure of (DUALS is in fact good).
>Chris_Tallman: ADEOPRY 9I YAP +23 46
#note I again chickened out of PULU (APAYD 28), and I think my obsession with my uncertainty of that hook caused me to also miss the RAXED hook - APERY/RAXED is 41. Even then, YO (20) is simming much better than YAP, so I misevaluated the strength of ADEPR vs DEOR badly too. Disappointing turn all around.
>Nick_Ascroft: EEGNOSS L3 SONGEES +77 100
>Nick_Ascroft: EEGNOSS -- -77 23
>Chris_Tallman: ABDEORV 10H BEVOR +42 88
#note I correctly rejected OVERBAD*, saw BRAVOED, and I think my thought process was that I'm taking a big lead anyway with my 42 point play, so no need to risk anything. BRAVOED is 7k probability and played with RAXED for 91 or underneath YAP for 83, yikes.
>Nick_Ascroft: EEGNOSS H10 .EGONE +33 56
#note BEVOR gave Nick this option in addition, perhaps just EVO was better than BEVOR notwithstanding the bingo.
>Chris_Tallman: AADIIQU 11J AD +25 113
#note I can't play QUAD or QUID (37) knowing Nick has S's. I didn't generate RADII (12) but I kind of like it, setting up potential Q bombs along row 14 and obstructing some of the floaters in BEGONE. My play scores 13 more though which may be worth it.
>Nick_Ascroft: AMOS M10 SOMA +23 79
>Chris_Tallman: AEIIQTU 4D QUITE +43 156
#note QUIET (41) scores 2 less to avoid opening the top right quadrant, but it also floats the I and doesn't allow as easy underlaps with my held I with QI as QUITE does. I'm not sure which is better.
>Nick_Ascroft: BILN 5B BLIN +27 106
>Nick_Ascroft: EOSW (challenge) +5 111
#note It didn't look 100% right to me for some reason.
>Chris_Tallman: AHIKNRV L12 HARK +48 204
#note I was only 95% sure of HANK and didn't want to risk phonying given HARK still gives me a big advantage.
>Nick_Ascroft: EOSW 14J WO.SE +39 150
>Chris_Tallman: ?AIIINV O12 VINA +42 246
#note WORSE was definitely a nice gift to bail out my triple I draw.
>Nick_Ascroft: ENO 6B EON +25 175
#note I remember suspecting this was a J setup, was is quite a dumb thought with the J spot next to the O in BEGONE sitting there. Or maybe I was just worried about a big J play in general with JEON heh.
>Chris_Tallman: ?AIINRW G11 RAWIN +30 276
#note I generated HAIRWING, but wasn't too sure of it. I don't think I knew WAIR was a verb (9.5k probability for WAIRING). RAWIN does make it much harder for Nick to bingo twice to come back, though it does set up a huge Z spot - evden thiough Nick very likely didn't keep the Z with EON (else he scores 40+ next to BEGONE), it's still unwelcome variance (Z play + bingo could be Nick's road back in).
>Nick_Ascroft: DEGGOT 3H TOGGED +22 197
#note Even though this takes the easiest 7's lane, I don't mind it for Nick to dig into the bag for the Z and the blanks.
>Chris_Tallman: ?CEIRRT M1 Re.IRECT +63 339
#note I didn't spot, and wouldn't have been certain of, CERTAINER(!) through NE at the bottom (83). I also didn't know CHERTIER or URETERIC, which score 10+ more than my bingo and create less dangerous floaters. I considered not bingoing with something like CERT (25) next to RAWIN, but felt that the pool was poor enough and the board closed enough that passing up a bingon now could lead to me never getting one, which could be trouble if Nick does get one.
>Nick_Ascroft: AMPU A6 PUMA +30 227
>Chris_Tallman: EFIOTTZ 1H FITTE. +30 369
#note A triple-triple is the only real way I can lose now, so I wait on playing ZO and block it. I could take 60 now with FRIZ if I wanted to as well.
>Nick_Ascroft: OY 2J YO +32 259
>Chris_Tallman: EHLORTZ F10 HERTZ +90 459
#note Bit better than ZO heh.
>Nick_Ascroft: ?CIIINS B9 ICINgS +28 287
