#note JS: another great play to start the game
MG: I told Jackson before the game I've actually been studying recently so I feel like I could compete more with him. I assumed this was an intentional phony so once I challenged this off I said something like "I told you, I've actually been studying!"...it turns out it was a genuine word knowledge mistake and I actually accidentally taunted Jackson. Sorry, Jackson!
>Morris_Greenberg: AGITVWX 8G ..GI +7 26
#note JS: a cool play here is WAG/MAW - either I play testudo/ovum and he can often hit 6a ?X plays, or I play TESTUDO/WAGS and he can hit V?X plays at 12f.
MG: My thought process here was to force TeSTUDO 5A and cash in with AX. I failed to realize that this play would send alarm bells to Jackson and he would opt for the lower scoring version at 10G. Redoing this, I would exchange keeping AX, I am guessing Jackson would have then played the other TeSTUDO. I really punted away a nice opportunity here.
>Jackson: ?DOSTTU 10G TeSTUDO +66 80
#note morris was hoping I play with ovum so he can hit the X, but I figured it was likely enough he was hoping for that that I went for the safer option. One day someone will hit with a mindgame where the safer, less obvious option is actually what they want
>Morris_Greenberg: ABETVWX L6 WAVE. +16 42
#note I disliked TAX 11K against Jackson at this score, it's the kind of play that if he has a number of the right tiles, he will create the kind of lead that is so hard to come back from against Jackson on a board like this. Quackle likes it around 1.5% more than this play, which is pretty fair considering he is drawing 7 random tiles so the scenarios I disliked are far from a guarantee to occur.
>Jackson: AAHIIMO K3 OHIA +19 99
>Morris_Greenberg: BJLOOTX J3 JOLT +37 79
#note JS: toolbox is a cool setup
MG: I missed TOOLBOX in the moment. I was trying to figure out if there was a way to go for JO(I)N(T) with all of the Ns unseen, but figured 37 points now is just so much. This play sims highest, but interestingly, Quackle prefers TOOLBOX M9 that doesn't set up the J over TOOLBOX 3I. I wonder if part of the reason is that the M9 spot will cause Jackson to block JO(I)N(T) less often.
>Jackson: ?AIMOOR 5A AMORInO +75 174
>Morris_Greenberg: BCELNOX A4 B.CON +36 115
#note I was choosing between BACON and BOXLA, I liked creating this bingo lane in the moment, but (1) I don't think this bingo lane adds that much to the board given the row 11 lane compared to the B in BOXLA could be a sneakily nice lane with so many Es remaining, and (2) CLAXON is a better play for creating a bingo lane along column B. Quackle likes BOXLA 16%, CLAXON 15%, BACON 12.5%.
>Jackson: AEEILNO 4A .OLE +22 196
>Morris_Greenberg: AEELPRX 6A .APE +25 140
#note I didn't consider (A)X 7L, but that looks excellent here. It slows the game down and gives me much better chances than this. This play feels a bit planless.

>Morris_Greenberg: EEELNRR O3 RELEN.ER +59 241
#note JS: phony
MG: Jackson held this, I think he realized his only real chance of losing is if he incorrectly challenged and lost his turn and then I get another bingo right away.
>Jackson: DEEIIIY N2 DEY +21 372
>Morris_Greenberg: GLNPQUY D9 QU.G +28 269
#note I noticed this hits a lot of hefty things often next turn (PI(X)Y or PO(X)Y with I or O, F(LOP)PY with F for instance). Quackle prefers QU(A)Y presumably to go for bingos.
>Jackson: EIIINOT 1H IONI.E +45 417

>Jackson: EIIRSTU 9D .I +11 428
>Morris_Greenberg: BDKLNPT K9 P.NK +24 338
#note This went for BLEATED, BLASTED, or BLATTED in 2 spots with AEE, AES, or AET draw. Jackson pointed out after the game that T(U)B would go for BLANKED it 2 spots with the more probable AE draw as an improved version.
>Jackson: EIRRSTU 13B RUSTIER +81 509
>Morris_Greenberg: ABDFLNT 13J BALD +25 363
#note I was off in my tracking and seeing that I just got knocked out of contention, I didn't have the energy to fix it. AFT 14E is 10 points better here. A well-won game by Jackson here to make it to the finals, I wish I could've competed in the finals, but I was glad to at least get close to it.
