#player1 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
#player2 Steven_DiNapoli Steven DiNapoli
>Jonathan_Lindh: GGIIKVW -GGIKVW +0 0
#note 2024 Crescent City Cup. Round 17. I considered VIG, WIKI, and exch. 7. I went with Exch. 7. Quackle likes VIG. Exch. 7 is close behind.
>Steven_DiNapoli: BCEEIRT 8F TEREBIC +78 78
#note Should have played VIG.
>Jonathan_Lindh: BEY 7G BEY +33 33
#note Rack not recorded.
>Steven_DiNapoli: AEILNOS 9B ANISOLE +70 148
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEHILV 8A VAIL +31 64
#note Quackle likes 10B HE for 28 by a surprising amount. I would not have guessed.
>Steven_DiNapoli: EHMOST K5 HOM.EST +48 196
#note Not only was HOMIEST a cool play, it blocked CHELATED.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADEEHLT J5 AH +31 95
#note EH and AH in this spot are very close. I prefer AH because it takes a bunch of front hooks, two of which I have.
>Steven_DiNapoli: AJR 4H JAR +24 220
#note I blocked a huge J bomb.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEEELTT I2 TE.L +11 106
#note I loved this play. It keeps a halfway balanced rack and sets up a big S hook I hope to draw.
>Steven_DiNapoli: DOTZ 10D TOD +21 241
#note It turns out Steven only had one vowel at the time. He had the Z and was hoping to draw an A for ZIN/ZA/ALIT.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEEOQTU 2F QUO.ED +38 144
#note I flirted with 11B TEED for 22, setting up a second S hook and hoping to draw an SQU- play, but decided to play it more standard with QUOTED.
>Steven_DiNapoli: DOYZ 1J DOZY +33 274
>Jonathan_Lindh: AENPSTT G1 P.NA +18 162
#note The Championship Player doesn't intially find my play, but when added to a simulation, it jumps near the top. Setting up another sneaky S hook (which I wasn't 100% sure of, I think i confused PUNA with KUNA).
>Steven_DiNapoli: LOW M1 .OWL +20 294
>Jonathan_Lindh: CEEOSTT 11C TEC +24 186
#note Sizable miss. 11G OCTETTES is 60 and blows the board wide open with two blanks unseen. Steven will probably be up by about 100 after his next play, but OCTETTES gives me a fighting chance. Quackle thinks no play has win% above 5%. TEC is one of the best non-OCTETTES plays.
>Steven_DiNapoli: AIRV 12A VAIR +34 328
#note Scored as 32.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EEIOST 2M .E +4 190
#note Quackle doesn't like bingoing here as I thought. I attempted to set up a big bingo lane with OE, Quackle thinks I should score more with some like A12 VETO that does the same thing.
>Steven_DiNapoli: DGIIP 3B PIDGI. +31 359
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EIOSST O2 STOrIES +74 264
#note I missed the insane overlap of L6 SECTIONS for 84. STORIES at least opens up an easy 7's lane and K/X spot.
>Steven_DiNapoli: NNOU N7 NOUN +10 369
>Jonathan_Lindh: AGKMNRR M9 MARK +22 286
#note Hoping for something unusual.
>Steven_DiNapoli: EFGU D1 FU.GE +28 397
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEGNNRW 13K GNAWN +40 326
#note I almost got what I needed, but was a tile or so off. Even if I bingo, I don't win. Also, WRANG here is a bit better. That word came up again.
>Steven_DiNapoli: IX E5 XI +36 433
>Jonathan_Lindh: ERR 13B RE +12 338
#note Tied for the best play.
>Steven_DiNapoli: ?AFIU 1A pUF. +27 460
#note The best plays are 5 letters words at 1A or VIFF at A12.
>Jonathan_Lindh: R 5C R.. +10 348
#note Best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (AI) +4 352
#note Final score recorded as 458-352.
