#note Whangarei Round 19
>Chris_Tallman: CEGIKLO 8G COGLIKE +88 88
>Chris_Tallman: CEGIKLO -- -88 0
#note Decided to try this; Rodney's scored 0, and it makes some sense "like a cog in a machine". Unfortunately it comes off the board, though this causes Rodney to not trust any of my plays, so I end up getting quite a few extra points later from this.

#note My first unchallenged play of the game. Thought about CLAP/LOY (28) to set up the J and further close the board - Rodney's a bingo-oriented player judging by his bingo statistics thus far, so closing the board against him is good - but so is just scoring.
>Rodney_Jardine: ADL 11E LAD +20 70
>Chris_Tallman: EELNPRT 4K .LEPT +32 140
#note I was surprised not to get a challenge here, I'm guessing he thinks I've given up phonying, or maybe he knew it.
>Rodney_Jardine: AIT 12D TAI +18 88
>Chris_Tallman: DENNRRU N8 .NURNED +20 160
>Chris_Tallman: ?AEENRU (challenge) +5 165
#note OVERREN is good, but not UNDERREN (doesn't fit anyway, and not sure I'd have tried it)... I did really like this play for long term defense, as the top left quadrant is shut off, and this closes the 7's line under the AD of JIHAD and prepares to close the JAIL hook too.
>Rodney_Jardine: EEILPRS 13H SLEEPI.R +72 160
#note I think he challenged before looking for bingoes, as soon after his challenge, he lays this down through the E I opened. He did already have one though, tough spot to see - REPLIES underlapping with JAIL for 90. BUTCHERIES (59) was also a cool option.
>Chris_Tallman: ?AEENRU O12 U.EA +21 186
#note I played this quite quickly - none of the 7's (UNEARED, RENAGUE (I'd recently studied that one), etc. ) fit, but there is a really tricky one, ENACTURE/CLAD through the T in TAI with the C as a blank - never looked there! This doesn't sim much worse anyway though.
>Rodney_Jardine: FI 14I IF +28 188
>Chris_Tallman: ?EHNRTU 15G HUNTERs +89 275
#note CHUNTER is the better play (was unsure of it) or even SHUNTER, as the first completely blocks and the second obstructs the bingo line above the H, but as I've been watching the show Hunted recently, I couldn't resist playing HUNTERS (over SHUNTER). Rare time where I make a 'style play' over trying to maximize winning chances.

>Chris_Tallman: BEIORST B8 ORBIEST +87 362
>Chris_Tallman: ?AAELOV (challenge) +5 367
#note Nice draw out of the bag to pounce on the S hook he's made pretty much secures the game.
>Rodney_Jardine: AZ A8 ZA +68 276

>Rodney_Jardine: OO 3M OO +12 330
>Chris_Tallman: AEEMNSY J3 NYMS +41 527
>Chris_Tallman: AEEMNSY -- -41 486
#note NYM doesn't take an S, oops - when he challenged, I asked him what he was challenging, and he said YCLEPT (which I was hoping for) and NYMS.
>Rodney_Jardine: INQS I3 QINS +31 361

>Rodney_Jardine: DEGR 11I RED +13 374

#note 9 straight wins to start day 2. I couldn't afford to lose many, as Lawson had only lost 2 total (as opposed to my 4) up to this point. 2 more to go today, for 11 total (the most I'd ever played in a day).
