>Bernie_Jardine: ADIK 8G KADI +18 18
#note Whangarei Round 16
>Chris_Tallman: EEGRRSY 9F GYRE +32 32
#note I didn't think too long about trying GREYERS*, though that caused me to see GREY/KY first. I'm happy I took a bit more time to see the underlap for more points and a more closed board.
>Bernie_Jardine: APW 10I PAW +16 34
>Chris_Tallman: DEEHORS 11G RESHOED +94 126
>Bernie_Jardine: BFI 12L FIB +29 63
#note Nice play to create multiple threats.
>Chris_Tallman: ACEIJMU 12C JUICE +30 156
#note I really wanted to play MIC/DIM (30) to block the easy FIBS hook, especially against Bernie as given her bingo statistics, she's likely to have kept bingo-prone tiles the past few turns and is likely to find those bingoes. However, I liked the long term defense of JUICE to block the bottom left, and keeping -AM, which fits nicely underneath the JU is a nice counter if she does bingo - and she could hit hard under MIC anyway for 90+ potentially.
>Bernie_Jardine: IN C12 .IN +20 83
#note Bernie seems pretty fearless opening stuff up.
>Chris_Tallman: AAEMORX F12 .OXA +29 185
#note And uhhh... I saw XEROMA, but was completely blind to the JINX hook (66 points). Failing that (wow), I debated between MOXA/REM for 32 and COXA from the C of JUICE for 29, and decided to go for COXA to obstruct the JINN hook. I liked my play at the time...
>Bernie_Jardine: ?DILNRT 15E L.TRINeD +80 163
>Bernie_Jardine: ?DILNRT -- -80 83
#note The only valid bingo here is DARTLING - a bit tough to spot with the blank G.
>Chris_Tallman: AEELMNR 15D ME.LER +33 218
#note I had just studied MEALERS, as it looks weird, I figured I might get a challenge, especially if Bernie sees DARTLING now - not to be.
>Bernie_Jardine: ?DILNRT 13M DIT +22 105
#note ... Though I failed to see that I gave her TENDRIL! oops.
>Chris_Tallman: AEGINNU B13 GUN +15 233
#note I was annoyed that ANGUINE was blocked - would've been more annoyed (at myself) about giving up TENDRIL...
>Bernie_Jardine: DLOU 7J LOUD +9 114
>Chris_Tallman: ?AEINOR O8 ANOEs.RI +121 354
>Chris_Tallman: AGNORYZ (challenge) +5 359
#note My only triple-triple this whole tourney.

>Bernie_Jardine: COR G5 COR.. +15 151
>Chris_Tallman: AAEGLNR 5G .ARNAGE +20 429
#note Should maybe stop playing defense and keep a better leave up by this much to maximise spread.
>Bernie_Jardine: LV M4 V.L. +8 159
>Chris_Tallman: AEFHILT 4K FA.EL +35 464
#note Missed HALFA for 45 - I don't think I knew it, only HALVA.
