>Jonathan_Lindh: ACDFRST 8D CRAFT +26 26
#note DRAFT and CRAFT are almost interchangable. I forgot about the from extensions onto CRAFT (AIR, SEA, and WAR).
>Joshua_Sokol: EHKNTUW F7 W.UK +21 21
>Jonathan_Lindh: DGIIOSS 11C GIDS +24 50
#note Best. I'm starting to find more of these low entropy plays which limit my opponent's options.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEFHNOT 12C OF +23 44
>Jonathan_Lindh: AILORSU - +0 50
#note Exchange 2, keeping AILRS, traing OU. I got enchanted with the idea of bingoing with AILRS and picking up 1-2 of those unseen E's. I missed 8A AIRCRAFT for 39. After Josh's next play, I realized my mistake.
>Joshua_Sokol: ABEHNTV C9 BE..T +22 66
#note probably caught on to something here (i.e he sees AIR(CRAFT) and had been fishing for it, but indeed he just missed it last turn). Normally TAVE(R)N seems like the right play. Missed that, but purposely played this over HAVE(R) and BATHE(R). TAVERN sims 4 up, but that's with zero inference.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAIILRS 10F .AIL +8 58
#note D4 ILIAC for 14.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADHNRSV H10 .NVARS +39 105
>Jonathan_Lindh: AIIRSYZ G13 ZA +44 102
>Joshua_Sokol: ABDEGHU 15C DEBUG. +24 129
#note BUG(S)HA is notable
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?IILRSY J8 RISkILY +80 182
#note RISKILY or RISIBLY seem like the plays. Maybe LYRICIST?
>Joshua_Sokol: AEHINPR B9 AH +30 159
#note I was already steaming in this position.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EIMNQTT 8J .EMINT +33 215
#note AH brought back shades of our Madison game where Josh made a setup I couldn't easily block. In this case, I could block it with MITTEN or TITMEN, both of which i missed. REMINT is still a respectable play, though, It sets up my Q with an I draw and scores well.
>Joshua_Sokol: EINNOPR L2 NONPRI.E +74 233
>Joshua_Sokol: EINNOPR -- -74 159
#note this was an emotional decision that cost me this game. It didn't seem right that I would miss after he made such an anti-positional play. I didn't think this was good but it made a lot of sense. But I'm playing Jon Lindh, he knows this sort of shit. He played REMINT so fast and so I knew he had not thought this through. I'm only a hair over 1/2 to bingo, I had just lost patience too early.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EMOOQTX 7L OXO +41 256
#note I cash my Q setup with my X.
>Joshua_Sokol: EINNOPR A6 PION +23 182
#note A6 PEON for 23 or A5 PINON for 26 may be a hair better because of all the unseen E's.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EIMOQT B5 QI +19 275
#note Best.
>Joshua_Sokol: CEEINRS E1 SINCERE. +75 257
#note Only bingo.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DEJMOT 6J JOT +31 306
#note Seems fine.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEEGNP 1A PEAG. +30 287
#note I had another opportunity to do a good thing here and play (S)EEPAGE, but I chose to complicate matters instead. SEEPAGE is the better play, which I recognized after deciding to do this. I'm signing my own death certificate a little, but I didn't think I was going to draw the blank.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ADEIMW 5K WAME +34 340
#note MAWED and this play are very close. I opted to set up the blank that is the only playable tile that hooks WAME. I made a lot of nice setups this tournament.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEHNNOO 4D O.HONE +24 311
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DEILLV O1 VELDs +39 379
#note This play was a mistake. I would do 3I DEVIL for 27 in a do-over. I can't give Josh two separate bingo lanes.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEENTUY 8A .Y +14 325
#note this was hilariously dumb. I didn't originally consider fishing one since with 2 in the bag at this score, getting outrun after a one-tile play is a real threat. But then I saw he had all one-pointers. So I thought about it. Down 54, down 60, up 20 with 1 tile vs 7. Seemed good. Had no time left, placed this down, hit my clock, and then I saw the M6 spot. What a ridiculous moment that was. Down 54, down 78(!) after (M)A(XI), up 5 in 1 vs 7. I should lose a lot of the time. I decided I was only winning if AA_ were in the bag, and well, as fate would have it, that's exactly what it was. Jon says I was 1/9 to win, I was actually 2/3 with what was actually unseen. Not that that was at all deserved. Still sick.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EILORRU 3I OURIE +15 394
#note To make matters worse, I drew terribly and did not pick up one of the A's. If I had an A, I could do MAXI/JOTA for 24, leave one tile in the bag and withstand Josh's bingo. I also had to manually retrack every single tile because I crossed out an U. TAUTENED is a big threat here but so are the 7's in row 2. OURIE and a bunch of other plays are best at 88.89% to win. This 8 in 9, and I only lose to TAUTENED I believe.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEENTTU 3B TUN.ED +30 355
#note Best. I was very relieved when this play came down.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AALR 2A AA +14 408
#note I whiffed on 11J KRAAL for 8 and O8 TALAR for 6. I even missed M5 MAXI for 24. My play is 4th.
>Joshua_Sokol: ET C6 TE +8 363
#note Best.
>Joshua_Sokol: (LR) +4 367
#note josh: I knew there would finally come a time where I stopped winning the flips or the overdog situations every time
