>Arie_Sinke: ACEILNZ 8G ZINC +30 30
#note Several ZINC/ZIN type plays sim quite close here. This is probably not right - it creates too many usable hooks onto column K. I probably should play ZINC at 8E here.
>Michael_Fagen: IIJOSTU K5 JOIST +40 40
#note Thanks to Michael for providing his racks!
>Arie_Sinke: AEEILOO G6 OO.E +15 45
#note This looks right. LOCIE J6 scores a bit more but the 3 vowel leave is too big of a sacrifice.
>Michael_Fagen: BFIRTUX 5E FUB +32 72
>Arie_Sinke: AAEILNT 4D AIN +13 58
#note This isn't bad; the sim really likes it. I have the L for LAIN so any bingo I draw is more likely to play. One tile fishes don't hit often enough to be justified; I score 8 fewer points with FA and only bingo 10-15% more often.
>Michael_Fagen: IIORTUX 10G ROUX +44 116
>Arie_Sinke: AADEELT C1 DEALATE +72 130
#note Only bingo.
>Michael_Fagen: IIORTTU 11I TUI +17 133
>Arie_Sinke: ADEKLOR 1C .ARKLED +42 172
#note This looks right. I didn't see OAKED B1 for 41, which is an interesting alternative but probably not worth the scoring options it creates and leaves open.
>Michael_Fagen: EIOORTV L1 VIREO +33 166
>Arie_Sinke: EELMNOQ M4 MELON +22 194
#note OMEN B2 for 27 looks like a very slight improvement. Keeping the L with EQ definitely doesn't help the leave but scoring 5 more points is obviously good. I don't think the ELAIN hook occurred to me this entire game - it's just not an obvious hook or a word you see every day.
>Michael_Fagen: ?AEHHOT D7 HOTHEAd +81 247
>Arie_Sinke: IIMNOQS 14B QIS +37 231
#note Clearly best.
>Michael_Fagen: AEGIVWY 1L .IEW +30 277
>Arie_Sinke: EFIMNOU E8 NEIF +33 264
#note It looks like the best play is ENUF B4 for 29 (yet another play involving ELAIN) - my play scores four more points but suffers from retaining the U in the leave.
>Michael_Fagen: AABDGWY N5 YAW +34 311
>Arie_Sinke: AEMNOTU B6 AMOUNT +24 288
#note Tough position. I really thought I needed to leave column O open to have a chance here, and thought I would benefit from maximizing turnover for the blank. Something like MEOU O6 would be more standard, but where do I bingo after that? The problem with AMOUNT is that Michael could make some three tile play at O6 and totally kill the left side of the board, forcing me to bingo with the d in HOTHEAdS or with TUIS. A lot of plays are close in the sim, including my play, MEOU, and NOTUM with OWN. I don't know what to do here.
>Michael_Fagen: ABDEEGR A1 BADGER +39 350
#note Michael noted the paucity of remaining vowels here and surmised that if I bingoed he could probably outrun me in the endgame. He turned out to be right in this situation, but with a number of good defensive plays available at O6 (like BEG, BED, etc. - even something like BERG or DEBAG) sims think he's more vulnerable after his play than after anything at O6. If I can get a three way overlap with JOEYS it would be incredibly difficult for him to overtake me in the endgame.
>Arie_Sinke: ?AEPRSV O6 REPAVeS +95 383
>Michael_Fagen: DEGINTY 15A GIT +25 375
#note This is one of several sequences that win for Michael. The best is GOT 6F, blocking my play of GORP and allowing him to go out in three turns scoring as many points as possible.
>Arie_Sinke: CGLPRS 6F G.RP +19 402
#note I lose no matter what I play here.
