#player2 Paula_R. Paula R.
>Shane_P.: IQ 8G QI +22 22
#note The next game is upon us! When I mailed into my local newspaper about this tournament, this was the game I selected. Not for the fact that it was good, but for the ridiculous words on it.
>Paula_R.: AT G8 .AT +13 13
>Shane_P.: CLO 10D COL. +8 30
>Paula_R.: GJ E9 J.G +22 35
>Shane_P.: AY D10 .AY +19 49
>Paula_R.: ADEPRST I8 STRAPED +74 109
>Paula_R.: ADEPRST -- -74 35
#note After this was challenged off, I made a massive blunder
>Shane_P.: ?DEIRTU 7H oUTRIDE +61 110
#note I knew her rack because it all got challenged off, and didn't realise she still had a bingo, and now it hooks onto oUTRIDE for massive points. What is worse is that InTRUDE at I7 was playable, and so much better! I still find this play really frustrating to think about. I only did well in this game through sheer luck, as you'll see
>Paula_R.: ADEPRST O1 DEPARTS +91 126
#note And that's why
>Shane_P.: EIOO K5 OO.IE +10 120
#note I don't know what cavity I plucked this word from, but it's valid
>Paula_R.: GGINSUY 13A GUYSING +87 213
>Paula_R.: GGINSUY -- -87 126
#note Another phony rightly challenged!
>Shane_P.: AU N5 AU. +11 131
#note No bingo, no blunder.
>Paula_R.: GGINSUY 12B GU.S +20 146
>Shane_P.: AZ B10 ZA. +33 164
>Paula_R.: HI L4 HI +12 158
>Shane_P.: HS 13B SH +34 198
#note eh
>Paula_R.: ANT A13 ANT +15 173
>Shane_P.: EEILORS L9 LOERIES +68 266
#note I stared at this on my rack for way too long before chancing it. It is valid
>Paula_R.: EGINRW 15F WINGER. +33 206
>Shane_P.: EF 14J FE. +29 295
#note Starting to take on a more comfortable position
>Paula_R.: EV 11J VE. +12 218
>Shane_P.: TW 3M TW. +16 311
#note Haha! Another dream word down
>Paula_R.: ABDEEOT 1H DEBOATE. +89 307
>Paula_R.: ABDEEOT -- -89 218
#note Another play challenged off. This is what I meant when I said this game was won through luck
>Shane_P.: AB J7 .AB +12 323
>Paula_R.: BDE 14E DEB +19 237
>Shane_P.: CEE 2K CEE +7 330
#note Blocks the D in DEPARTS for possible bingos
>Paula_R.: ELO M7 .OLE +15 252
>Shane_P.: IV 1M VI. +13 343
>Paula_R.: PTY 13K P.TY +23 275
>Shane_P.: MO 12N MO +12 355
#note YOM available for more at N13, but it gives back way too much, with a possibility of XU and XI at the helm
>Paula_R.: A 11D ..A +6 281
>Shane_P.: KO J4 OK +13 368
>Paula_R.: ?AFL 13F FoAL +20 301
#note This endgame takes way too long
>Shane_P.: DRU 15A .URD +7 375
#note "It's not the greatest word in the world"
>Paula_R.: OX O10 OX. +10 311
#note Thank God I did that instead of YOM
>Shane_P.: M H12 M. +7 382
>Paula_R.: INN I2 INN +6 317
>Shane_P.: N 11A N. +2 384
#note So suboptimal
>Paula_R.: I 3H I. +2 319
#note And that's the game! Final score: 382-333. Fairly decent game that I only won out of luck somehow. I would later face Paula again through a KOTH last round, which was riveting
>Paula_R.: (NR) +4 323
