>Beth_Mix: EELNRSS 8G LENS +8 8
#note Game 3 of 6. Wowzer, another annoying double S rack to start.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CILNTTV H3 VITTL. +10 10
#note And now I have a tough decision to make. She clearly has another S (and possibly another E because LENSE is good) and I'm sitting on a very clunky rack. I have to block the E because trying to play elsewhere is just going to put me in an awful spot to respond to openings she could make. I eschewed H8 EVICT and H5 CIVET just due to her keeping another S, and I didn't really see myself making life more difficult for her with H7 VET because she can still hit Column K very hard, and CILNT as a leave isn't really going to leave me with many good options. So turnover and starting over was the answer in my opinion.
>Beth_Mix: DEGMNRS 4G D.NGER +16 24
#note I like the aggressiveness here after I just played 5 tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: CEEEHNT K8 ECHE +23 33
#note Close with 5K HE and 7K HENCE in the sim. I'm not closing the board down anytime soon, so I ultimately found a compromise between score and leave.
>Beth_Mix: ?AAEMQS 6F QA. +32 56
#note When she gave me her rack for this position, I saw SQUAMAE and SQUAMATE for her. Although those are not easy bingoes to spot, the initial valuation and the sim do favor QAT over M4 SQuAMAE, but 5B SQuAMA(T)E is the play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEEFNOT 3F FO.EATE +29 62
#note This does give back the Z bomb, but nothing else is really even close. This was probably my best nonbingo find of the night. FOVEA in this spot is not an improvement because FOVEATE prevents many more big Z plays and digs for the blanks better.
>Beth_Mix: ?AEMNSU 12E UNMAkES +69 125
#note UNMAkES and MANUrES both play at 2A for 12 more, and I would have done 12G MEdUSAN for 78.
>Samuel_Kaplan: BNNRTWY H10 BR.WNY +42 104
#note I saw 5K WRY at first, which does block 60+ point Z plays at 2J, but the leave that I am keeping after that is a lot more clunky and allows her to start closing the board down. This is easily the play.
>Beth_Mix: FGIJMUW F10 JU. +26 151
#note I really like F8 FUMI(N)G here- she even has the J and is reasonably likely to draw an A for plays on Row 2. Not only that, it kills the entire bottom left of the board.
>Samuel_Kaplan: HIIKLNT 13B THINK +41 145
#note Looks good. Misscored as 39.
>Beth_Mix: EEFGIMW 5J EW +26 177
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?BEIILS 2A BIlLIES +81 226
#note As one of his fellow New Yorkers, Mr. Joel would be proud that I chose this bingo over the others that play.
>Beth_Mix: AEFGIMO 1A AM +28 205
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEIOSUY 14F YO.I +42 268
#note Mhm
>Beth_Mix: EFGIIOO 14A GOOF +30 235
#note Looks like B10 FOOTIE keeps better, is 4 more, and is better for the board given her deficit.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEIPRSU 7C PURI +20 288
#note No home for UPRAISE. I did see 7E PIA(L) but so many options allow me to dump the U. However, 10F (J)U(B)A actually allows me to have a reasonable shot at bingoing next turn for only 7 less. #strategylarge
>Beth_Mix: ADEIIOO 15A ODE +31 266
>Samuel_Kaplan: AACEGST 8A AGATE +30 318
#note It's hard to call this a mistake instead of doing 11E G(U)A(R)- my bingoes on Column M have to start with an S for the most part, and FOVEATES* isn't a word.
>Beth_Mix: AIIOPRR 9A RIP +23 289
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACDSTUV M1 CUD +42 360
#note I didn't expect to get an I to bingo with VIADUCTS, but holy crap M1 CUDS guarantees me a win on the spot? I would never have thought that would be the case! That's insane. But I see the point here: perhaps I overestimated her chances of bingoing throught the C?
>Beth_Mix: AAEINOR 1L A.AI +21 310
#note Looks fine.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AISTVXZ 3B XI +32 392
#note It's nice to play or form any part of Beth's name when I'm playing her. And it's easier to do for her than me, because no part of SAMUEL FORREST KAPLAN is good.
>Beth_Mix: ELNOORR G8 .OO +16 326
#note 7K LENO guarantees her to go out next turn and get some points off my rack.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADOSTVZ 9K .OZ +24 416
>Beth_Mix: ELNRR J2 R...R +10 336
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADSTV 10B TA +18 434
#note Her only out play is A6 LE(AR)N, so this scores while blocking her only out. But come to think of it, J11 D(E)VS gets more stuff off my rack. So it's better to allow her to go out. #endgamelarge
>Beth_Mix: ELN D6 L..E +10 346
#note And she should have blocked DEVS with 10J EH.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DSV J11 D.VS +23 457
#note Better overall. FOVEATE was the find of the game and overall very sound.
>Samuel_Kaplan: (N) +2 459
