>David_Weisberg: ACEEFIS 8G CAFE +18 18
#note I couldn't remember if FICE takes S (it does), or I would have much preferred it to CAFE. It sims about 2.5 ahead of CAFE. FACIES, which I also briefly considered, sims even with CAFE, but seems like a bit of a waste, and floats a lot of good stuff to play through. I thought about 8G FIE 12, but this just gets completely overlapped a lot, and ACES, while strong, isn't quite close enough to a bingo for me. It sims 2 points behind my play.

>David_Weisberg: EIJMNOS L3 JOIN +26 44
#note L1 JIMSON 50. I know it but not sure I've ever gotten to play it. Other than that, my play was still sloppy because I could just play JO for 20. A sim likes that by about 2.5 over JOIN. JIMSON comes out 9 points ahead of JOIN, clearly best despite the easy 33+ point replies.
>Michael_Baker: EFO M2 FOE +32 124
>David_Weisberg: ?EMOSUV J11 OVUM +17 61
#note VOLUMES doesn't play anywhere, nor do any other bingos. Likely the only other play worth considering is J10 MOVE 27. It has the far inferior leave of SU?, and invites lots of hooking plays below. Since I don't know the whole dictionary I feel much more confident bingoing soon with ES? than SU?. MOVE wins a sim by 4 points, but I am fine with my choice.
>Michael_Baker: AENQ 13I Q.EAN +48 172
>David_Weisberg: ??BEELS N7 djEBELS +78 139
#note An unfortunate turn here as it's better to be able to get the second blank separately to bingo again later, of course. I looked for awhile to find something hooking QUEAN and tripling B and also hitting the DWS. Only N8 wEBLESs 91 fits the bill, and I didn't know it. Apart from this, I should probably play something like BLESSER or BLESSED for 83 to both open a new bingo line and open a triple in case I get X or Z or another big scoring play instead. My play shoots myself in the foot and will likely lead to the board getting closed off quickly with little to show for it. Two blanks on a rack can be notoriously confounding, but it may have been worth taking some extra time here to get a more favorable position.

>Michael_Baker: EWY N1 YEW +41 227
>David_Weisberg: EHILLNS O1 EH +39 178
#note Not too good. J6 HEEL 34 would be more appealing if I saw it. He's likely going to take the O1 triple if I don't since the board is already getting tight, but I need to bingo again soon, and getting rid of that L would help a lot. HEEL is favored in a sim by 2 points, and bingos nearly twice as often as EH.
>Michael_Baker: NRT L12 T.RN +10 237
>David_Weisberg: ILLNNST 11D LIN. +10 188
#note My chances are really dwindling now. This sets up the case S I hold, but can be hooked with B or C, and just gets blocked most of the rest of the time. The clever 9J LINTEL for 9 keeps INS for possible -INGS or -IVE or -INE bingos. It beats my play by 7 in a sim. The computer says I bingo 6% more often with LING, but I think a human would block my main spots after LING more often. Another option would have been 7F NIL 5, hoping to draw an A to hook it with a bingo and possibly even a 2x2. This bingos even more than LING in a sim, but again I think that line will get interfered with pretty often.
>Michael_Baker: ITUY 15K U.ITY +24 261
>David_Weisberg: DLNOPST J6 PO.T +28 216
#note I didn't record my leave from this play so I'm not sure of my last tile, but the leave from LING was LNST, so it was either D, G, or O based on my next rack.
>Michael_Baker: AAEEORU D6 AUREO.AE +68 329
#note Ahh, come onnnnnn :(
>David_Weisberg: DGLNOOS C12 LOG +14 230
#note I'm pretty much out of this game now but I thought if he doesn't have A or E, this setup would be difficult to block effectively.
>Michael_Baker: ADETX C5 TAXED +49 378
>David_Weisberg: ADNOOSW 15A WOOD +35 265
#note After TAXED, my chances are somehow even worse. Still, I sabotaged my own setup by playing here rather than for 31 at O6. It does gain a few points in equity but a bingo would really help my morale.

>David_Weisberg: ACDINRS 8A IC.. +18 283
>David_Weisberg: ACDINRS -- -18 265
#note Yes world, I played ICER*. I had next to no time left, or was maybe even overtime already, and thought this would at least create a bingo line he'd have to sacrifice to block. It came right off, as it should.
>Michael_Baker: ALT 8A AL..T +15 418
>David_Weisberg: ACDINRS 14H RI. +16 281
#note I got flustered again and used too much time. By now I was more or less in "play anything" mode.

>David_Weisberg: ACDNPRS -- -78 281
#note I wasn't sure of it but I wanted to go out guns blazing. This would have ended the game, so it got an auto-challenge from Michael.

#note I went over by nearly 4 minutes! Final score 497-286. One of my ugliest tournament games I can remember
