>Jonathan_Lindh: EHINORZ 8D ZONER +48 48
#note November 2023 WGPO Madison Tournament. Game 9. Best. Note the potential for the HIZZONER extension.
>Joshua_Sokol: BHIIRSV E3 VIBRI. +22 22
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AHINRU H1 UNHAIRe. +83 131
#note Best. I also played this word against Ken Rubin at Lake George and hooked it for another bingo later on in the game so that's 3 times in the past month I've made use of this word.
>Joshua_Sokol: EHMOSTX G7 H.X +33 55
#note I think 9E SOX might be too many points to give up. Even OX, keeping the X, setting up my scoring tiles. #findingsmall
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ADENOS 1H .NSOAkED +77 208
#note Best. I considered making the blank an R but mentally switched it to the K in time. UNSOAKED is the only 77 point bingo to the U.
>Joshua_Sokol: CEIMOST O1 .OMESTIC +92 147
#note Barney Gumble: IT BEGINS!
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEIORTW D8 .OWIE +34 242
#note Best. ZOWIE ended up creating a ton of overlaps for Josh later on in the game, so this mundane equity play inadvertently planted the seeds of my demise.
>Joshua_Sokol: AGMOPUY C9 YOMP +37 184
#note The first of the overlaps.

josh: POGY for 4 less might be better, setting up UM B9
>Jonathan_Lindh: AGIORTU 3L GAU. +14 256
#note This was a mistake. I looked for overlaps on the E column, but didn't like the fact that all of the overlaps I saw (notably GAUR and GAIT) opened up triple word score lanes. I then decided to shed the A, G, and U elsewhere with GAUM. I'm thinking E10 TRAGI for 33 here. I occasionally get hit with C bingos in row 15, but there is only one unseen C.
>Joshua_Sokol: ACEGLRU E10 ECRU +37 221
#note It turns out Josh had that C! Would Josh bingo if I played TRAGI?

josh: I didn't have anything good with TRAGIC!
>Jonathan_Lindh: IKORRTW 4K ROW +23 279
#note Or TROW in the same spot. Maybe even 5K WORKS for 24. ROW was sort of an awkward compromise.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGLNPT B10 LEAPT +41 262
#note This play set off alarm bells in my head. This looks like a standard overlapping play, but I saw the potential for somebody plopping a D or an R on the back of LOWE and going for a crazy column A setup.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AIKNQRT 4D Q. +22 301
#note Very minor mistake. J4 TRANQ for 23 is a little better and 4D QINTAR for 30 is best. My play is about 2 points back so not a huge deal.
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGGNOT A12 GOAT +37 299
#note Still no counters for Josh's overlaps.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AIKLNRT K4 .INK +16 317
#note J1 SKIT for 25 is the play here. I think I doubted TROW. It's THOW* that's the phony 4 and I had challenged off once or twice.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEGINST 10B ....D +13 312
#note My worst fears became reality.

and yet, I had a bingo with DOMESTICS, which I never saw. So bad.... #findingSADDEST
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEJLLRT 2F JA.E +29 346
#note As we say in Chicago, Josh caught me lacking. I somehow had none of the hooks that go on to LOWED. I considered blocking, quickly saw I would have to sacrifice 20-25 to do so and potentially have to trade a J sometime down the line, and just went with JANE. My play is #3 according to the Championship Player. I3 ALTER for 25 is somehow best although it raises the question of where the J will go in the future. Even assuming an S for Josh, Quackle doesn't like blocking. JANE seems ok.
>Joshua_Sokol: BEGINST A4 BESTING +100 412
#note A very appropriate word. Josh destroys me with his setup.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAILLRT L7 AL +9 355
#note No clue here.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEINOUV J4 VOE +24 436
#note AL could be an F setup, so J7 OVINE might be called for. #questionable
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEFILRT M7 FARL +28 383
#note Unsure again. Tried to set up my E, draw the S, and hit a bingo in two places.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEILNU 11G ALIUNDE +74 510
#note Best along with UNIDEAL.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DEISTTY H10 S.ITTY +30 413
#note 2nd best play. I didn't see H11 LYSED for 39. We both missed it post-mortem as well.
>Joshua_Sokol: EF 10L E.F +17 527
#note Best.
>Joshua_Sokol: (DE) +6 533
#note Another fairly well played game by me, but I'm wondering if playing GAUM instead of TRAGI may have done me in. Probably the only noteworthy mistake here.
