>Arie_Sinke: ADGORSU D6 OU.DRAGS +70 70
#note This is best.
>John_Luebkemann: IX E11 XI +39 105
>Arie_Sinke: AHOORRR E1 HORROR +20 90
#note I'm probably being too optimistic about how well I will do on average with the H at E1 here. My play is great for static eval but does poorly in a sim. I looked at RHODORA G5 but couldn't justify giving up 7 points to make something that still allowed counterplays to two triples. The plays the sim suggest score comparably to HORROR but retain poor leaves while opening nothing much up. C9 OAR for 23 (leaving HORR) and 7F HORA for 23 (leaving ORR) do well in the sim.

>Arie_Sinke: ABEKMNV C1 EMBANK +35 125
#note I missed VENOM 2B for 42, which is clearly better than anything else.
>John_Luebkemann: EIIMRST 2H RIMIEST +82 211
>Arie_Sinke: EGHNOVY F11 ENVY +32 157
#note The one play that stands out in the sim is HOY 1J for 31 - a bit counterintuitive to keep the V when I don't have to but I really want to hang on to the E here and GHO is realistically not a very good leave. I'm not sure I'm 100% convinced here but it does do quite a bit better in the sim (4.5 points.)
>John_Luebkemann: BDS L1 B.DS +20 231
>Arie_Sinke: AEGHOOW B1 WHA +41 198
#note This scores enough to be best despite the poor leave.
>John_Luebkemann: LLU G8 .ULL +17 248
>Arie_Sinke: EEGIJOO A3 JOE +23 221
#note I didn't see EEJIt J4 for 27, which looks better - it scores 4 more and the leaves are comparable.
>John_Luebkemann: ANV 3G VAN +17 265
>Arie_Sinke: AEGIOPT I6 PI.OTAGE +64 285
#note Only bingo.
>John_Luebkemann: DLO H13 DOL +15 280
>Arie_Sinke: AAEIIQW 13B QI. +24 309
#note I'm hoping to underlap with my I next turn if John doesn't have one - Quackle thinks this is wrong and that I should play tWAE at J8, but I'm not convinced. QAID 9A might be reasonable but 9 points is a lot to give up to bail out an extra vowel.
>John_Luebkemann: CEFL J4 CLEF. +22 302
>Arie_Sinke: AAAEITW 14A AIT +30 339
#note This looks right - a compromise between WIT (scores a lot but keeps 4 vowels) and AI (gives up 4 points to keep an extra consonant, the T.)
>John_Luebkemann: UZ 10G .U.Z +33 335
>Arie_Sinke: AAEEIOW J12 OWIE +19 358
#note I spent a long time on this play. Not sure what to do. I thought about exchanging 7, almost assuring myself that I draw the blank if John doesn't already have it, and I thought of EWE F4 for 25, a higher scoring play that aims to outrun but will likely get me in vowel trouble if I don't get very lucky. I ultimately decided to compromise. The sim says I win a bit less often than with either of the non-compromising plays, with EWE beating out exchanging 7 by a smidgeon.
>John_Luebkemann: APST K11 PAST +26 361
>Arie_Sinke: AACEEOY M1 O.E +16 374
#note I need to block INFaNTE M4 here. I could do it a bit better by playing OCA L9 for 9, which also blocks plays at L8 and should lose by 7 with optimal play from both sides.
>John_Luebkemann: ?EFINNT L8 FINEs +34 395
>Arie_Sinke: AACEY 8L .ACE +27 401
#note I had a chance to win this game by making the fairly simple play of FYCE instead of FACE, and I totally missed it. FINEs is actually also a game losing error - John could win against perfect play by me by taking his time and playing NE F5 first, forcing me to block uNFIT L8 and going out with something else instead. After I go out with FYCE it's a 410-405 win for me. If I recall correctly I was a bit low on time but not quite low enough that I was about to go over unless I slapped something down instataneously.
