>Arie_Sinke: EEIIKWY 8G KIWI +22 22
#note Or WIKI.
>Patrick_Beatrez: GIIOOTW 7H GOO +16 16
#note Thanks to Patrick for sharing his racks!
>Arie_Sinke: DEEEIRY 9F EIDE +26 48
#note I thought this would be a better play than EYED 4K for 22, and Quackle seems to concur. It's better positionally and ERY is not that much worse than EIR, plus it scores 4 more.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AIIIRTW 10D TAW +27 43
#note Probably slightly better to exchange here, but it's close.
>Arie_Sinke: CENRRYZ 11E YEZ +46 94
#note This is best despite the poor leave.
>Patrick_Beatrez: GIIIIOR -GIIIO +0 43
#note TORII D10 is hard to spot but worth playing.
>Arie_Sinke: ACNNRRX 12F RAX +36 130
#note This looks right.
>Patrick_Beatrez: ?DILQRT 9C QI +23 66
#note Best.
>Arie_Sinke: BCNNORS D8 N..ON +28 158
#note This looks slightly better than CONNS K4 for 31, which doesn't score enough extra points to justify spending the S.
>Patrick_Beatrez: ?ADELRT 10I DiLATER +67 133
#note The best bingos are the 70 point options at K1 (forming GOOD.)
>Arie_Sinke: BCCEORS O10 .ECCOS +39 197
#note This is my first real error of the tournament - RECCOS is #. I knew I had seen it before somewhere. SCROB O8 is also available for the same score and a better leave, so there's no merit to phoneying here.
>Patrick_Beatrez: ?AEEINV E2 NAIVEtE +70 203
>Arie_Sinke: BDEHRSV L10 .DVERB +30 227
#note VERBID scores two more, but ADVERB sets nothing up while blocking bingos to the S and generally making the southern half of the board bingo-unfriendly.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AANOPRT D1 PANT +26 229
>Arie_Sinke: EGGHJPS K5 HEPS +37 264
#note This is worth the poor leave for score and defense.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AEFIORR 11J FI.O +26 255
>Arie_Sinke: AEGGJMT L4 JAM +33 297
#note This is probably the right call. Some plays that look better for static equity (METAGE 6J for 30, G(AN)JA 2C for 29) do things to the board that I clearly don't want to do. JAM moves towards exhausting the northeast - one more move and the N column is dead.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AEHMNRR F6 HA +27 282
#note HARP 1A or HAREM 13I would be good plays both for equity and creating options with a deficit.
>Arie_Sinke: AEGGITU 13G GIGA +34 331
#note I was aware that I was creating a huge opening here with ZAGS, but I thought I needed to accept that for the sake of equity. I'm not ahead by enough to sacrifice too much equity here. The defensive play would be TEGU M5 for 18, which sacrifices a lot. I was also concerned that I was keeping a U with three unseen, and did briefly consider GUT in the same spot, but wasn't fond of AEGI as a leave for a three point sacrifice. Fwiw GIGA wins a sim by a small margin.
>Patrick_Beatrez: ELMNORR 6J M.. +24 306
>Arie_Sinke: BEISTTU 14A BUTTIES +86 417
#note Only bingo.
>Patrick_Beatrez: EILNORR 15A ONE +25 331
>Arie_Sinke: DLNOSUY M5 YOU +24 441
#note This is weak. I thought I needed to sacrifice a few points to get rid of a U with 2 unseen, and also thought that with a vowel heavy pool I could get away with a four consonant leave. Quackle thinks I'm giving up too many points and that I should just go for YODS M2 for 40 or NODS in the same spot to keep the Y for ANY.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AILRRTU 8M RUT +16 347
#note This is probably right.
>Arie_Sinke: DFLLNOS 1A FLO. +27 468
#note I ran out of time and erred in the endgame. I hame a number of plays that go out in two, of which DOLLS/FONDS at N1 appear to be the best. After FLOP Patrick has ways to go out in two and pull within 100.
>Patrick_Beatrez: AEILRRU 2A AI +13 360
>Arie_Sinke: DLNS 6J ....S +11 479
#note Down to a few seconds, I just slap something down. This is a bad play because it isn't an out in two.
>Patrick_Beatrez: ELRRU N2 LURE. +20 380
>Patrick_Beatrez: ELRRU -- -20 360
>Arie_Sinke: DLN J13 .ND +6 485
>Patrick_Beatrez: ELRRU 15H RE. +12 372
#note Patrick has REDUB here, which makes AND a bad play.
>Arie_Sinke: L 13L .L +4 489
>Arie_Sinke: (LRU) +6 495
