#note Preface: I felt like I was stumped slash guessing for most of this game. It's easy to blame it on the tiles, so I won't do that. In part I think that is because I don't yet have a great sense of board texture and positional play, at least in the ways the kenji talks about it. "I like what this play does to the board", "this makes some quadrant difficult to access", "this will lead to a closed position", etc. I struggle to see what shapes the board may take. I think that skill gap is what really cost me here, as well as of course a lack of word knowledge, which I'm currently working to address through daily word study. I would deeply appreciate any feedback on my choices slash mindset because this game demonstrates many of my biases and my general strategy. My email is skylerlutz@me.com thanks in advance

First unsure situation: some 5's are better on static, but the leaves are two consonants each, so I'm ok with HID G8 but I don't love it either.
>JackLechner: AEGGNRS J3 GRANGES +69 69
>SkylerLutz: ABDEHLT 5H BL.H +18 32
#note Second unsure situation. I could cash in with BREADTH 4L for 34, but that opens a triple triple. Jack just bingoed so he had seven shots at two unseen blanks. Looking back, both BREADTH and BLAH (my play) close off the double double lane. I want to keep the board open to give myself bingo opportunities. I was thinking that BLAH scores well, forks top quadrants (I think?), and has a good leave. Had I known HIDED I probably would have played DHAL K8 with a good ish leave. Shrug
>JackLechner: ABDI 4J .ABID +21 90
>SkylerLutz: ADEIOTU 6D AUDIO +14 46
#note Third unsure situation. No bingos. I think I'm supposed to go for turnover to try to snatch a blank while scoring, keeping the board open, and keeping a good leave. Don't know if my strategy is correct.
>JackLechner: CEIN F8 CINE +19 109
>SkylerLutz: AEMOTUV E11 OVUM +22 68
#note Fourth unsure situation. Again, no bingos, need to score, open the board, turn over tiles, and keep a good leave. You get the idea. Nevertheless I did not feel confident here
>JackLechner: ?AEINPT 3C rETAPIN. +78 187
>SkylerLutz: AELLRTU 13B LUL. +8 76
#note Fifth unsure situation. Did not know TAILLEUR M2. Applied same strategy here as I did in previous turns, unfortunately did not pay off.
>JackLechner: KO H1 KO. +21 208
>SkylerLutz: ?AAERRT 2B TAR +9 85
#note Did not see PARTAKER and did not know the rest of the bingos here (ARTMAKER, ARTERIAL, ARMATURE, ARCATURE). Still working through high-prob 7's and will move onto high prob 8's and probably cover some of these.

Given I did not see slash know the possible bingos, my thinking behind TAR B2 was, since I'm down by 132, I'm going to need to introduce more volatility to try to come back into this game. Kenji talks about this a lot. With that said, there's probably a better way to do that than what I played.
>JackLechner: CEIT 1A CITE +29 237
>SkylerLutz: ?AEEOQR E5 Q.A +24 109
#note Did not know QUELEA, QUALE B10. Given that, QUA seems ok as it scores decent, sheds the Q, and leave is good.
>JackLechner: DEERRSY 1H .EY +10 247
>SkylerLutz: ?EEEORY F14 YE +28 137
#note Sixth unsure situation. I did not see REDEYE N2 but that seems to give a lot back. YE F14 scores well but also gives back the triple lane. Shrug
>JackLechner: EILX 15F .XILE +36 283
>SkylerLutz: ?EEOORT N3 O.OmETER +60 197
#note RETOOLED B8 is 8 points more but I only saw ODOMETER. I'm not sure which is better since they both give back huge triples.
>JackLechner: AJO 8L JO.A +57 340
>SkylerLutz: DMNPSTW M7 P.W +31 228
#note Seventh unsure situation. Usually, when I have no vowels, I exchange. but POW scores well. With that said the bag is consonant heavy. Having said THAT I didn't even break 200 yet. Shrug
>JackLechner: ENOS L8 .ONES +30 370
>SkylerLutz: DMNNSTU 3M M.N +18 246
#note Eighth unsure situation. Did not know DUNTS K11 which scores the best. Shrug
>JackLechner: EORSV K11 ROVES +35 405
>SkylerLutz: DINRSTU 14J D.NTS +27 273
#note Ninth unsure situation. DENTS scores decent
>JackLechner: GZ F2 Z.G +33 438
>SkylerLutz: AAEIRRU 15M AIR +13 286
#note This game is toast
>JackLechner: FFITW O1 WI. +18 456
>SkylerLutz: AERU B9 UREA. +7 293
>SkylerLutz: (FFT) +18 311
#note At least I broke 300. Again, would appreciate any words of wisdom on my play. My email is skylerlutz@me.com thanks in advance
