#note I stand by this play against all the haters - leaving 6 in the bag, I am very likely to beat any immediate bingo, unless he somehow draws dual Z threats or scores a million with his bingo, both of which are very unlikely. If he plays elsewhere, I can block basically all the threats - sometimes I may have to allow 9s through OP or a rare Z play to the E, but both of those are really unlikely. The rest of the board is completely cluttered so he is unable to make a second threat after avenue. Two other possible issues with this play are if he plays something like ZEDA immediately, threatening either bingoes downstairs or an A1 play to outrun, and secondly some Z setup like E(T)A that threatens zeta plays or Z bingoes downstairs. Both of these are real threats, but E(T)A setups I can often block while outrunning bingoes, and ZEDA immediately still leaves me in a pretty good position to block bingoes while outrunning A1 plays. While AVENUE is not a 100% win by any means, i think other plays leave me more vulnerable to not hitting a bingo and getting bingoed on, which is worse off for me than getting bingoed on after AVENUE.
