#player2 Adam Adam Logan
>CL: AEEEEOT -AEEEO +0 0
#note I kept ET from this mess, but the computer engine (called Macondo) says keeping AET is slightly better. Normally you'd not want to keep more vowels than consonants -- 3 consonants vs 2 vowels is considered a balanced ratio -- but with all the vowels on my rack, the bag is slightly weighted toward consonants.
>Adam: IIRRSTT 8D TIRRITS +66 66
>CL: BEIPSTU 7C PUB +16 16
#note J8 Macondo likes playing SUB from the S of TIRRITS. This opens up possibilities for words with SUBS and SUBA. Since I have an S, blocking the S by using it for SUB isn't so bad. My play is also pretty strong, though.
>Adam: ?CEEOOR 6A EmOCORE +74 140
#note what a cool play!
>CL: DEIRSST A1 EDITR.SS +140 156
#note 140 points on one play ... and now I'm basically tied.
>Adam: AEGNV 5E GANEV +36 176
>CL: AILORTW H1 ALOW. +36 192
#note This is the only play that scores this much.
>Adam: AHYZ B8 HAZY +44 220
>CL: AIORTTV H7 V.TIATOR +62 254
#note It's risky to make a play where any word ending in S can use a triple word on multiple words at once .... but this scores so much, I have no choice but to risk it.
>Adam: AABDGTU 3C GADAB.UT +82 302
#note Adam is finding the best play every time ... he won't stop scoring!
>CL: AIJKMN A11 KANJI +60 314
#note Lucky I have some big-scoring responses
>Adam: CELNOOR 12E CON.ROLE +70 372
#note this is the adjective contrôlé, from French, meaning "officially registered"
>CL: AEEHIMN C9 HAEMIN +60 374
>Adam: ?AEGLU 15H sAULGE +57 429
#note finally that huge scoring spot gets taken
>CL: DDEFMNX 14H .EX +53 427
#note my letters are starting to get worse and worse, but I've still got some options
>Adam: QUY D1 QU.Y +52 481
>CL: DDFIMNN B14 IF +35 462
#note Macondo here says I should play FINED for 9 points through the E in contrôlé, but it's very hard to turn up a 35 point play. With the end of the game near, and the remaining letters not so great, I'm going to need one huge play to actually catch up. IF scores well now, but I'll still be slightly behind, with few hopes to come back. The computer says I might win 25% of the time after FINED, but something like 2% after IF. The DDNN I keep after IF is just that bad.
>Adam: FLOO 13L FOOL +19 500
>CL: DDEMNNP F11 P.ND +11 473
>Adam: EEEIISW O11 WI.IS +27 527
>CL: DEMN 11J MEND +28 501
#note Macondo thought I had two small errors with eight perfect plays in 11 turns. All in all, very well played. There's no shame in putting 507 on a world champ and losing.
>CL: (EEE) +6 507
