>Morris_Greenberg: ADDEELU 8G DUE +8 8
#note Was choosing between LAUDED and DUE here. Quackle likes DUELED or LAUDED 8D here by about 1% more than this.
>Jared_Cappel: AEPRSUY 7I YUP +21 21
#note Instantly dismissed YAUPERS as phony. Whoops.
>Morris_Greenberg: ADELNVW 8K AWLED +43 51
>Morris_Greenberg: ADELNVW -- -43 8
#note I wasn't sure of AWNED, and thought AWLED* had to be good. Basically every woodworking tool is a verb also (aside from things like sanders which has a different verb form of sand). It is so weird AWL can't have a verb form. Great challenge by Jared, he thought about it for 7-8 minutes.
>Jared_Cappel: AAEEERS 8K AREAE +22 43
#note MG: Lucky he didn't notice this gives back WALED for a bunch. JC: As Morris said, I took close to 8 minutes to pull the trigger on the challenge, all while muttering how Scrabble is a stupid game. When I finally won the challenge, I felt time pressured and just snapped down AREAE without stopping to think of his rack, which was really dumb. (I was frustrated drawing AEE after my opening leave of EARS.) Fortunately, my play sims okay, as Morris will score with his W pretty much whatever I do except maybe 6H AE, which I would have probably played if I took the time to think it through. 9I AE sims neck and neck with 6H AE despite giving back big W plays.
>Morris_Greenberg: ADELNVW 9I WANED +40 48
>Jared_Cappel: BEEFGIS 10J BEG +32 75
>Morris_Greenberg: HIKLPTV 7M PHT +27 75
>Jared_Cappel: ?EFIRSS 11D FRaISES +73 148
#note I was seeing FRISETTES in the back of my head but somehow couldn't come up with it. As Morris pointed out after the game, after PHT I should think he has consonants and not put a vowel beneath 10F. Maybe RESIFTS is best for that reason? Quackle likes FRISEES as the best bingo 7 letter bingo here without that inference. I used a lot more clock on this term looking for a (non-existent) play that hit 11K.
>Morris_Greenberg: FIKLMVW F10 K.LIF +29 104
#note A bit sad IM(PANE)L was blocked for 44. Quackle likes VI(F)F and this roughly equally.
>Jared_Cappel: ADDJORT 12A JOTA +48 196
>Morris_Greenberg: AMNSTVW 6L VAW +41 145
#note I briefly considered MAW too since it opens the top half of the board, but ultimately thought this was too much better to pass up and have to develop at a different time.
>Jared_Cappel: ADDNOQR 13E Q.NDAR +18 214
#note I had this feeling Quackle was goign to prefer a non-Q play here. I didn't see 13B DONAIR which sims about 5% WP better. I did like shedding the Q though and probably would have played this even if I saw DONAIR.
>Morris_Greenberg: AIMNSTU 15F SANTIMU +92 237
>Jared_Cappel: DNOOOTU A12 .UDO +36 250
>Morris_Greenberg: EGGIMRT 14L MIGG +20 257
#note I thought I was making up G(O)MER, I was choosing between MIGG, MIG, and T(O)ME. GOMER is clearly the best idea here, and Quackle likes this MIGG next most, but I do wonder if the other MIG is better (even though Quackle thinks this MIGG is 4% better than MIG).
>Jared_Cappel: NOORSTV O12 VO.S +36 286
>Morris_Greenberg: AEIIRRT 14D RI. +17 274
>Jared_Cappel: INOORTX B14 OX +33 319
>Morris_Greenberg: AAEINRT 10F .A +8 282
>Jared_Cappel: CIINORT G6 CO. +7 326
#note Quackle wants me to play DIN at 13H, but after him dropping a lone A, I think I have to block. This was the best block I saw. I didn't look all that long, as I was low on clock from my early turns.
>Morris_Greenberg: AEIINRT L8 ...IE +12 294
#note Quackle prefers dumping just the I, I felt like Jared practically could keep extending the lead if I didn't block the 13L spot. There are also so many E's unseen, and this scores 7 more than any I dump that it seemed worthwhile for staying within range of a bingo too.
>Jared_Cappel: IINORTT 10E O.. +9 335
#note Quackle wants 14H IT. I thought with my lead and this board, I have to keep playing defense. Turns out I blocked a bingo. (On a sidenote, this was the first of 3 turns with a homeless bingo on my rack).
>Morris_Greenberg: ?AINORT L4 NA. +12 306
#note uRINATO(R) blocked. I miss ANTIRO(C)k, but I wouldn't play that anyways here, his leave is too strong. Quackle prefers ORA 14H, or OR 12H. I wonder what is correct with my knowledge of 9s.
>Jared_Cappel: EIINRTT M3 RET.... +24 359
#note Glad I found this. With the assumption Morris had the blank, this felt like a game saving find.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EILORT 14H OR +9 315
#note Miss TERpI(NE)OL here (and didn't know it), and Quackle likes OLE 14H even more than that.
>Jared_Cappel: BEIINTY N2 YET +17 376
#note Quackle likes TYIN or TIYIN across the 9 column, even when I specify Morris has the blank?! Not understanding it's logic here. I was looking at ICY vs. YET. I again had very little clock to work with and didn't like potential big plays down to the Y after ICY, which is why I played YET, despite it carrying its own risks (e.g. if he made a Z play down the O column, while still holding the blank). I also liked that YET took out 9s through NE or TE. Would like to hear others' thoughts on this turn, as I'm not sure on Quackle's analysis here.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EHILNT 7F H. +5 320
#note In the moment I really liked this, but a response of COZ or ZEE O1 is too devastating here (he'd be up 91 after ZEE, and if I get a 68 point bingo + 22 from his rack, I'd lose by 1). Quackle suggests TH(AT) instead, which scores 9 more immediately so I'd get a bit more of a cushion. I think thought that isn't great after ZI(T) as a response through it. This is a complicated position.
>Jared_Cappel: BCIILNZ 5J BL.. +12 388
#note Championship player has this as 100% to win, which I'm glad to see. I didn't see how to block his new lane, and I figured even if he bingoed, the Z/C would be enough to hold him off.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?EEILNT E1 LEnIENT +68 388
#note (R)E(I) is a crazy cool idea that loses by 5.
>Jared_Cappel: CEIILNZ 3C ZI.C +28 416
#note I was down under 10 seconds and scared he was going to hook ZINC to ZINCO, so I played this across 3 instead of across 4 which makes no sense, but that's what happens when you're time pressured I guess. 6B ZEIN is better by not giving back ZINCO, but my play still wins by 4 even if he finds ZINCO...I've now taken a small 13-10 lead in our series, but the games continue to be neck and neck and very evenly matched. Feels like a ton of games lately have gone down to the wire!
>Morris_Greenberg: O 15A ..O +10 398
#note (ZInC)O, but had under 30 seconds here.
>Morris_Greenberg: (EILN) +8 406
