>Jared_Cappel: AEIJOQS 8G QI +22 22
#note JC: Our 2nd game in May prior to the Montreal tournament.
>Morris_Greenberg: ELMNTTV H7 V.M +8 8
#note MG: Quackle prefers exchanging keeping ENT, EMNT, or ELT.
>Jared_Cappel: AAEEJOS 10H SOJA +36 58
>Morris_Greenberg: CELNTTZ K6 CENT.L +16 24
>Jared_Cappel: AAEEERS J9 A.EE +15 73
>Morris_Greenberg: LOORTTZ L7 LOT +12 36
#note MG: This was a weird turn, I was initially going to play LOTTO L11 but switched to this because opening the triple there didn't feel worth the 3 points. Quackle slightly prefers O(O)T to this and TOT in the same spot.
>Jared_Cappel: AEKRSTW M3 WREAK +46 119
>Morris_Greenberg: DEHORTZ N2 DOETH +56 92
#note MG: Misscored as 58.
>Jared_Cappel: FOOSSTU O1 FOOS +37 156
#note MG: Jared overdrew here and I flipped FFS. It's a tough decision, the S isn't a very good tile on this board, the fire power of 2 f's tipped me to throw back an F. Probably incorrect.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?AGNPRZ I12 PANG +12 104
#note Another weird turn. I considered GRAZ(E), GRAP(E), RAZ(E), or RAP(E) along row 12 and iZAR O6 as well. Ultimately, I thought guaranteeing myself a triple next turn was a nice feature of PANG over the row 12 plays, and didn't want to burn the blank here. Quackle prefers all of the other plays I considered.
>Jared_Cappel: EEIISTU 15I .IE +4 160
#note JC: Quackle was liking all of my moves unitl this turn. UNITIES (which I saw) is simming best. I didn't like blowing up the rack and still leaving -ING bingos available. The next best play per Quackle is TEGU. I didn't want to open a new bingo lane to the left, especially as I might draw poorly with a leave of EIIS; I preferred slow playing the situation and holding onto my balanced leave on a closed board. The third best simming play is SUITE/AHS. I considered that too but didn't like the 10N scoring spot it gave up. I'm still not sure what the best play is here, but I don't think it's my play of GIE. Open to thoughts.
>Morris_Greenberg: ?FIRRSZ L11 FRIZ +38 142
>Jared_Cappel: EGIISTU 14L .IG +26 186
>Morris_Greenberg: ?AIPRSX O6 SIX +36 178
#note MG: The X was the final tile I drew here, and makes my decision very difficult. I considered P(I)X 13K for 42 without addressing anything along column O, the SIX I played for 36, and SIX at 15M for 1 fewer point (that blocks ZIGS plays, but doesn't block bingoes). Ultimately, I felt minimizing worst case scenarios seemed appropriate, so settled on this play. Jared also had some clever meta-game here where I thought he was pretty likely to be holding the blank at this point, so I thought it was fairly appropriate to take a measured approach. Quackle suggests RASP/(ZIG)S which I didn't seriously consider. In the moment, I thought it was fairly important to bingo as quickly as possible here and shed the X, but the X might be the most valuable tile for the board after RASP so I am going into a tight game with the best artillery. Really cool idea.
>Jared_Cappel: EHINSTU O12 HISN +47 233
>Morris_Greenberg: ?AAENPR 13B PARANoE. +68 246
>Jared_Cappel: AEORTUU 12A AUTO +20 253
#note I saw the top simming play of auteur, but didn't like opening things up. In hindsight, this board I'm creating, with a deficit in tempo, is not good for me. This sims as > 1.5% in WP mistake.
>Morris_Greenberg: ADELMUW 14C WALED +28 274
#note MG: I missed WED(GIE), really nice play.
>Jared_Cappel: DEENORU 15A REND +35 288
#note I thought if I played TAWN* fast enough, I could get it by Morris, and thankfully I did. I thought I was in huge trouble if I dind't get this play down, but the computer says N8 ENDUE scoring 24 (which I did not take the time to see), is only 2.5 WP% worse.
>Morris_Greenberg: IILMNTU A7 ULTIM. +24 298
#note MG: Correctly switched from MINUTI(A) to this to minimize bingo chances. Quackle estimates it allows 14.5 fewer points on average next turn!
>Jared_Cappel: BEOOUVY N10 YOU +19 307
#note It's neck and neck between my play and exchanging 7, with my play simming just ahead.
>Morris_Greenberg: BEINRTY 9E BRI. +21 319
#note MG: I really disliked making this play in the moment, I was low on time already though and I didn't see great alternatives. I missed the lovely options of BY(RES) 4K and TY(PE) 12G, and thought (U)BIETY was way too risky for my liking, but Quackle prefers both
>Jared_Cappel: ABEORUV 4G OVERBA... +36 343
>Jared_Cappel: ABEORUV -- -36 307
#note There didn't seem to be any reasonable plays here, and then I saw overbares, got excited and threw it down. The second Morris said hold I realized I misspelled it. Awful. Not the sort of mistake I usually make, and one I'm still cringing at.
>Morris_Greenberg: DEEGNTY E9 .YE +16 335
#note MG: I had ~3 minutes left of clock when Jared played OVERBA(RES)* and I held and first checked to see if I would win if I didn't challenge (I was pretty sure it was phony, but wanted to make sure). I saw the pool was CIU?, and he would have multiple out plays so I challenged it off leaving about 1.5 minutes left on my clock. The part I didn't realize in that little time is he couldn't have had the blank because BRAVOEs B1 would've been his play last turn. If I realized this, I obviously empty the bag, this is a pretty egregious mistake that I don't think I would have made with more time. DYE 10D would've been the play I made if I emptied, that wins 80.3% of the time per champ player, whereas this wins 67.4% of the time.
>Jared_Cappel: ABEORUV 4H BRAVU... +32 339
#note MG: Really nice phony, neither of us realized BRAVURE doesn't take an S.
>Morris_Greenberg: CDEGINT B3 EDICT +16 351
