>Mack_Meller: EGHIRRV H4 VIRGER +28 28
>Arie_Sinke: EEEGOPT 6G G.OPE +14 14
#note I managed to miss PROTEGEE here despite looking for several minutes. This play is weak; worse than VEGETE.
>Mack_Meller: FFHIOOW 5K HOWFF +44 72
>Arie_Sinke: AAEEINT G8 TAENIAE +64 78
#note Only bingo.
>Mack_Meller: ILNORSZ O5 .RIZ +48 120
>Arie_Sinke: EGIOOST 11D GOO.IEST +86 164
#note Only bingo.
>Mack_Meller: EJLNNOS 4L JO +41 161
#note Not a fan of this, but 14F JEON is way too dangerous, and my other options score too little.
>Arie_Sinke: ACIIKLT 14A CATLIK. +46 210
#note Top scoring play by far.
>Mack_Meller: AELNNST M3 N.. +12 173
#note This gets blocked a lot, but still seems best.
>Arie_Sinke: EIQRRUY 2K QUERY +41 251
#note This looks reasonable. I reasoned that it was very unlikely that Mack was fishing for some specific 3x3 and that the E hook spot was the bigger threat by far. I also would sacrifice a significant amount of equity making any other play.
>Mack_Meller: AELNSST O1 S.N +18 191
>Arie_Sinke: EILORTU 4C OUTLI.ER +72 323
#note Only bingo.
>Mack_Meller: ADELOST 3A OLD +14 205
#note With 2 blanks out, I feel like I have some shot here -- if Arie can't block both spots he'll probably block the O and I can maybe hit DISTANCE or something similar.
>Arie_Sinke: ?ABDOUV A8 BiVOUA. +42 365
#note Interesting position - I have four very different options here:

1. Play the obscure 9 - BOUV(AR)DiA 9C plays for 69. It takes a 187 point lead and will occasionally lose to 3x3s from Mack in either of the two open spots.

2. Attempt to retain the blank while blocking only one of the two open spots for 3x3s. The best way to achieve this is VODOU A2 for 11 - this play wins the sim over higher scoring options like ADOBO and DOOB or BAUD 2A for 26. If I play this I'm vulnerable to being outrun by two bingos even if Mack doesn't get his 3x3.

3. My play, which blocks all 3x3s but spends the blank cheaply and sets up huge scoring potential for Mack with the S hook. Even if Mack does score well with BiVOUACS, I can probably make comebacks unlikely by blocking one of the two open quadrants of the board. Mack is unlikely to overtake me with a BiVOUACS play plus a single bingo.

4. Play sUBOVA(TE) 8A instead, blocking all 3x3s but scoring 3 less and not giving back a high scoring hook, as well as blocking eights through the T in OUTLIVER (though setting up a maringal floating s and U.)

For what it's worth, a 1000 iteration sim to the end of the game suggests I should take the 69 points with BOUV(AR)DiA, with my play about 0.5 win% back and sUBOVATE and VODOU a bit further back. There is a blank unseen to me as well as some other good bingo tiles so I'm not out of the woods yet.
>Mack_Meller: AACEHST 15A SHEA +76 281
#note Saw ATTACHES, but this looks better as it scores the same and keeps that part of the board open for bingos.
>Arie_Sinke: ?AADEMS 2C AShAMED +65 430
#note There are some better options available, including MAEnADS 10I and AlAMEDAS 13G. I just plunked down the first thing I saw (other than MASThEAD, which I saw but eschewed.)
>Mack_Meller: ACEITXY A1 EX.TIC +48 329
>Arie_Sinke: ADINRTU 1F AUDIT +36 466
#note Best.
>Mack_Meller: ABEIMWY F10 W. +26 355
#note Going for BEAMILY with an L draw and saving EMBAY, WYE may be a little better for spread though
>Arie_Sinke: DELNNNR I10 L.ND +7 473
#note LEND is suboptimal because it's not actually an out in two - Mack could block my play of TENNER with BAYWOP F7 (a word that was inexplicably not expurgated.)
>Mack_Meller: ABEIMPY 12K EMBAY +34 389
#note I missed F7 BAYWOP!! That's sick, and 13 points better as it blocks both his outs. I correctly determined that plays like BY(TE) that block both his outs were much worse than just playing EMBAY and letting him go out. Not unhappy with how I played this one, Arie just scored way too many points early on and played well to hold on to his lead
