>Chris_Cheng: AEELLSS -EL +0 0
#note Playing EL vs exchanging EL is probably a tossup, only spent 45 seconds here and just went with my gut
>Alec_Sjoholm: III -III +0 0
>Chris_Cheng: ADEILSS 8B AIDLESS +70 70
#note saw a potential M hook when playing this but didn't like it, would have challenged it but also would have tried it later in the game if need be
>Alec_Sjoholm: AEINORS H8 .ENSORIA +77 77
>Chris_Cheng: AEINOPU 7A UNAI +13 83
#note Missed two double doubles and made a pretty weak play instead
>Alec_Sjoholm: EZ 10F ZE. +32 109
>Chris_Cheng: ADEGNOP 11D GOAD. +28 111
#note rough miss...
>Alec_Sjoholm: CP 9G P.C +23 132
>Chris_Cheng: ?DEFINP 13D PaNF.IED +68 179
#note at least I found this, creates a hot spot for a Y and a big scoring spot from 14J but I felt 4 points was well worth it anyways
>Alec_Sjoholm: BELV J10 BEV.L +18 150
>Chris_Cheng: BEEGINO 14A BEGONE +31 210
#note From what I can see, 14B BEIGE gives back bigger parallel plays from 15A but 14A BEGONE allows huge J plays through the B (JIBE, JUBE, JABS, JIBS, HIJABS even...)
but I felt it was quite unlikely Alec kept the J after BEVEL
14A BOGIE is a solid option too but I like scoring more points, really only considered the first two as options
Seems close
>Alec_Sjoholm: ?AHNSTU K4 UNHASTy +71 221
>Chris_Cheng: EGHINOY 8K .HINY +45 255
#note Simply gotta find HONEYI(N)G. I got hung up on using the scoring spots. I saw 8K (S)HOGI and L1 YOGH and dismissed the latter because the L column is not as big a scoring spot if I leave it alone given the pool - best I see there is WORM for 34 and there are numerous plays available from 8K that will score more if I leave that open.
So I decided on (S)HINY to score more but in hindsight I want to keep the Y for the (still existing!) Y spot at D12
>Alec_Sjoholm: IQ 7M QI +44 265
#note (S)HINY also gives this Q spot...
>Chris_Cheng: ADEEIO A11 ADO.E +30 285
#note For some reason I only wrote down two of the three tiles I kept. Third one may have been the G
>Alec_Sjoholm: EFORRTT 4E FROTTE.R +74 339
>Chris_Cheng: EGIIRUV H1 VIR.U +24 309
#note The E is certainly worth keeping, I am likely to need to bingo to win and this is kind of the only option that opens lanes
>Alec_Sjoholm: AWW 15D WAW +33 372
>Chris_Cheng: AEIOTUX 12J .OX +29 338
#note Saw F1 IXO(R)A but it blocks the lanes. Saw N4 AUX(IN) but it gives back huge scores from O1 that a bingo wouldn't overcome. Saw 5A AXITE but OU leave goes aboslutely nowhere here. Basically disliked all the scoring options.
I played 12J (V)OX after seeing a few bingoes it can hit through the V. I saw (V)AULTIER, ELU(V)IATE and MUTATI(V)E. DURATI(V)E is also possible.
Considered playing E4 (F)OU to fish for something like 1B LAXATI(V)E or as a backup two turn fish for N2 RELAX(IN)G - and maybe I should have done. Seems fairly likely that the V and I will get blocked next turn.
I think I spent almost as long on this turn as I did writing this dialog lol
>Alec_Sjoholm: CEMR 6G MERC. +27 399
>Chris_Cheng: AEGIOTU E4 .OU +12 350
#note Did the fishing play I considered last turn, except this time I did not have much time to see what it could hit. Only saw RA(V)IGOTE
Felt there was maybe something with -(IN)G
>Alec_Sjoholm: EJ J2 JE. +26 425
>Chris_Cheng: AEGIKMT 6N KA +33 383
#note Felt like trying N1 TIEMAK(IN)G but I was 99% sure it was invalid (which indeed it is) and even more sure that Alec would challenge it, so I just scored what I could to cut spread
There are cool fishing plays here, like playing off the I to go for N1 MARKET(IN)G or 9A GEM going for O8 (Y)AKITORI or 2A YAKITOR(I) among other stuff that quackle provides. And to be clear I saw none of this in the game.
>Alec_Sjoholm: AILORTY 9A OY +11 436
#note Blocking the possible M hook makes a lot of sense here. Turns out MAIDLESS# is Collins only
>Chris_Cheng: EGILMTT 2J .IG +11 394
#note Only had 15 seconds, just slapped down something
>Alec_Sjoholm: AILRT O1 LATRI. +21 457
#note Solid out in 2
>Alec_Sjoholm: (ELMTT) +14 471
