>David_Webb: CINORTU A7 N.UROTIC +61 200
#note I briefly wondered why he chose NEUROTIC over UNEROTIC. Was I mistaken about NEUROTICS being good? (I was ~50% sure about it...) Why would he be so aggressive if it were good? Surely not... This means it's actually not good and I needn't worry about that spot. Surely. Or so I thought...

(He later revealed to me that he thought UNEROTIC was a phony!)

#note Missed VOGUING at the same spot.
>David_Webb: BFI N8 FIB +22 285
>Ryan_Wee: IINNOPS 11H PINIONS +77 339
#note Due to reasons that I've just explained, I did not entertain the possibility of NEUROTICS/SPINONI at all! So after PINIONS I falsely assumed that I was in a rather comfy position. Things would quickly take a dramatic turn...
>David_Webb: DEEHNST 15A SHENTED +119 404
>David_Webb: DEEHNST -- -119 285
#note I was utterly crestfallen when he laid this down so confidently. Looks like his "gambit" worked! Or was he pulling a fast one? I almost certainly had to challenge---but I was so fixated on NEUROTICS that I nearly just challenged that and not the other word too. Now that would have been something...
>Ryan_Wee: EEIIKLR H11 .ERIL +24 363
#note Having challenged both, I honestly was confused as to which word was the real phony (or were they both phonies?). I still didn't know what to think about the NEUROTICS threat and decided to concentrate on blocking OOPS/SHENTED* instead. In hindsight something like CIEL would have blocked both potential threats. Oops! Missed PIKER too, for what it's worth.

>Ryan_Wee: ?GHIOQT M13 HOT +26 433
#note Felt much better with the blank in hand but I knew the endgame would still be tricky. CP very much dislikes HOT compared to 14A COT, 13J QUAHOG, B5 THON, etc. Way too many options here and I obviously didn't consider most (if any) of them. Think I'd have gone for QUAHOG had I thought about it. I guess I might have been in serious danger of being Q-stuck despite having the blank...
>David_Webb: EELL 15J LE..LE +18 436
>David_Webb: CDRRT (challenge) +5 441
#note Even though I gave him another nickel for this, I was relieved to see that he wouldn't have any more vowels left on this rack.
>Ryan_Wee: ?AAAGIQ K7 QAt +14 447
#note Wow, 3H AQuA(V)I(T)!
>David_Webb: CDRRT C6 CR..T +13 454
>Ryan_Wee: AAGI 3L .A. +12 459
#note Panicked here and overlooked VITA. Fortunately this still wins.
>David_Webb: DR 13K D.. +7 461
>Ryan_Wee: AGI J2 AIG. +7 466
#note Phew! That was quite the game...

Edit: Forgot to note that he challenged BETEEM and I challenged NEUROTICS after NEUROTICS/SHENTED*.
