#note Waffled between this and DERM. MED is another option I didn't consider. Eventually settled on MEND over DERM since I didn't want to give back the DERMA hook and DERM also allows bigger overlaps on column D. The tradeoff, though, as Dave's next play makes clear, is that MEND makes it easier for him to bingo on column D. MED, interestingly, sims best though I'm not sure I like keeping 4 consonants on this board. Maybe a small mistake

#note Didn't consider 8A DEFT, which bingos a lot more but scores 8 less. It also leaves row 1 open for Dave, which is probably not the wisest after he exchanged 2. Given that I think DEFI is fine -- I'm only down 20 so can be patient and keep things a bit tighter. If he exchanged a larger number and had a more random rack DEFT is probably a bit better.

#note Basically dead here -- 0.3% to win according to sim. Sim things I should exchange, I was worried even 2 bingos wouldn't be enough after exchanging though and figured I'm better off doing this and trying to draw CINGULUM or something. Either way hard to imagine winning at this point.
