#note was interesting to consider things like the fact that this gave me 90 points and a better board if it stayed on, but still, I believe it's worth it to challenge. If it comes off, I play REFUgEE 6A, he plays something like V(R)OW, and his rack is worse, he's scoring more but lost a fulll tempo. Think it still works out in my favour if there is a reasonable chance this isn't good. But he knows his ING words, doesn't he.

#note BALDS has better equity? I should have played that then. Although DABS has the best equity, and I'm not doing that for reasons. #strategysmall

#note the moment of truth. Do I somehow determine beyond reasonable doubt that WOLVING takes an S just based on how long he took to play? I can't can I? This would prove disastrous.

#note this is potentially the most interesting challenge situation I've had in a while. Immediately, I know that if this is good, the tilt will settle in. And how couldn't it be good if Matt is playing it? Spent a few seconds wondering if I should just let it go, challenge 1, challenge both, or think about it. I should have thought about it longer. If I notice that he has NUTSIES(T) for 82, I know that he is trying to bait a challenge (and bait tilt, which is probably far more costly than 10 points). I could let it go, and it could still be an invalid play, but I will have avoided giving him the benefit of making this better than NUTSIEST on the scoreboard. I just never thought to see what his other options were. A nickel rarely changes a game result. 15 points also.

#note things beginning to get interesting. I am well aware of my disadvantage here, but I begin to see the potential of a play at 8L. I can do (O)OH this turn and have some recursive pressure, but that's blockable and I'm down 50 after the block with GRSX? +2. Doesn't seem very great. Complicating, yes. I can do 13B HOG and try to outrun, but that doesn't seem to be a fruitful attempt either. I ended up settling on this. HOX in the same spot seemed interesting for some potential at 6B as well, but for some reason I thought this was more bingo-potent. The saving grace here is that keeping the H has some (I don't know how much) hidden value, despite just being flat-out worse in a static pre-endgame. I assume Matthew will almost certainly play on row 13 if he can. If he plays off 4, that seems pretty bad for me, but 3 might be OK.

#note So, to be clear, I definitely tunnelled on this play. I can win outright with an EI draw if I play P(O)H 4I. This is a brilliant idea, since it not only draws into QUIzZERS, but it blocks Matt's access to L1, which would otherwise allow him to block and go out in two. And if it weren't brilliant enough, I also win with an EE draw, because of the same high-scoring threats on 12A paired with S(Q)UEEZeR. This seems like a very strong option, and I was well within my ability to think of it.
But this one, this is just so beautiful too. I have all the remaining hooks to OUP. The blank to make an A, the S, and the H. If I only but draw one of the two I's, I threaten SHIRaZ O8 for 108. One of the I's is honestly probably likeliest unseen. I thought he was likelier to have the O and the K for 12A stuff like KINO and KENO. I was shocked to draw the Z, since I have such nice options at 12A, but they likely come up short.
According to Quackle, which I don't super trust, this wins with ie, ik, io, ee, e,o ek, and ties with ko. The endgames that ensue are quite tough though, since Matthew is juggling with a blank rack with 3 hooks in play, and has to make sure he's spotted every important response to every play, so there is some trickiness associated with this as well. Unfortunately, if I'm 15, 10, even 5 points closer to Matt, the play of OUP wins more, and more, and more.

#note there are a bunch of wins here, and a few ties, which in the tournament situation, are pretty much a win for Matt, as he is only one game behind and needs to win the next game regardless.

#note I tried in vain to find something here. SHNOZ* O8 was not even on my radar, but I thought that was good when Matt mentioned it to me. I am losing by 3 with perfect play. That +15 is hurting right about now.
