#note This is a substantial error - I should be exchanging to ES here. My instincts always tell me to exchange in positions like this, but I find it easy to talk myself out of it. Here UVEA sims 4 points behind exchaning to ES, suggesting that if I disregard positional considerations, AEIS is about 13 points worse than ES here.
>Christopher_Sykes: IP F10 PI +20 42
>Arie_Sinke: AEILSUY 12C YULE +19 28
#note This narrowly wins the sim.
>Christopher_Sykes: DEILOO H10 DOOLIE +30 72
>Arie_Sinke: ?AEFGIS 14C GAsIF.ES +65 93
#note I can't bingo for more than 65 here. Better to play here than at 14E to give back fewer floaters. SEIF I8 for 30 is only about 5 points back.
>Christopher_Sykes: HMRT E5 THR.M +20 92
>Arie_Sinke: AEEHRST 5E .HEATRES +72 165
#note This appears to give back less than any of the other 72 point bingos available.
>Christopher_Sykes: AQT 13B QAT +41 133
>Arie_Sinke: EINRTUW 12H .UTWIN +18 183
#note OUTWIN# is not in NWL. Even if it were good, it would probably be slightly worse than 4K WIN for 21, according to the sim. This is a poor play and a bad time to phoney.
>Christopher_Sykes: ?CDENSW J2 DEC.oWNS +67 200
>Arie_Sinke: AEEINOR 11J AE +16 199
#note I struggle with this type of position - I can never figure out which of the multiple dinky fishes available to me is just slightly better than the other weak looking options. In this case, it looks like it pays to give up on the bingo and take some points while throwing the board open with COINER 4J for 24 - it sims about 5 points ahead of the dinky fishes. My clock is down to about 8 minutes at this point.
>Christopher_Sykes: BLOX H1 BOXL. +45 245
>Arie_Sinke: EINOOOR 4J .OO +16 215
#note I make the correct dinky fish here, apparently.
>Christopher_Sykes: AAEEEII -AEEII +0 245
>Arie_Sinke: EIJNORR 15A JOE +38 253
#note I rushed this play and missed the obviously vastly better JOINER M9 for 42.
>Christopher_Sykes: KSY N12 SKY +30 275
>Arie_Sinke: AIINRRR N10 RI... +14 267
#note Not challenging OUTWINS# was a huge error. Also, RIN M2 may be a bit better than RISKY - I'm feeling like a huge underdog already and hoping I draw an E.
>Christopher_Sykes: DENOZ O7 ZONED +50 325
>Arie_Sinke: ABDINRR 13L DA. +23 290
#note This is poor and M1 BRIN is clearly a lot better. I am unlikely to win here no matter what I do, though, and I'm also down to about 4 minutes, if I recall.
>Christopher_Sykes: CEFT F1 FETC. +15 340
>Arie_Sinke: BIMNNRV G2 MI +21 311
#note Terrible play - the leave is weak. I should just go with BRIN 3L but I was averse to giving back the N.
>Christopher_Sykes: GIPR M1 GRIP +22 362
>Arie_Sinke: BNNRRTV 1M .RR +12 323
#note This is somehow best
>Christopher_Sykes: AEIILNO O14 OI +11 373
>Arie_Sinke: BNNTV 4J ....T +9 332
#note I played this because I thought he would try to V stick me and it would pay to play out slowly and milk as many points out of my rack as possible. Championship player says I should just take the points with BIN. Playing out is an error for him - he should try to do some sequence with RENTAL N2 after COOPT - and BIN doesn't allow that.
