>Arie_Sinke: BDEENOU 8D BOUND +22 22
#note Tough position. I think this is probably best. The shorter openings (UNBE, BEDU) give up too many points without offering particularly great leaves, and the other longer plays (BONED, DEBONE) keep worse leaves.
>Andre_Popadynec: CHNU D8 .UNCH +24 24
>Arie_Sinke: EEEILMR 11D .LIME +18 40
#note I thought for a long time about this play. It looks like I probably made the wrong choice. I tried to score as well as possible while keeping an acceptable leave, but the E at H11 is not something I want to be opening up if I don't have to. Quackle likes C12 EME for 15, creating a big opening but also threatening to bingo more often than any other play, or EMEU F5, which sims two points behind EME; it doesn't open much buy gives up a few points. This is about 4.5 points back.
>Andre_Popadynec: AAV C12 AVA +17 41
>Arie_Sinke: AEEFKRT 10F KEF +45 85
#note Looks right.
>Andre_Popadynec: ADEGW 12H WAGED +41 82
>Arie_Sinke: AEERTUY 11J AYE +28 113
#note Looks right.
>Andre_Popadynec: INV B10 VIN +20 102
>Arie_Sinke: ?EERSTU H1 mUSTERE. +77 190
#note Lots of 77 point options are available to the D. It may be better to play vESTURED, making the blank an awkward tile and playing the most uncommon and challengeable word possible.
>Andre_Popadynec: ?ACIMSU 3F MU.ICAlS +76 178
>Arie_Sinke: BNOQSTT 14B Q.T +24 214
#note Best.
>Andre_Popadynec: EGL 10J GEL +27 205
>Arie_Sinke: ABINOST 15D OBTAINS +83 297
#note Looks best, BOTANIST 4A scores one point less.
>Andre_Popadynec: ILOO 4C OLIO +12 217
>Arie_Sinke: AGIIORR 8A AIR..... +33 330
#note This is best by far. I was thinking about BOUND front extensions throughout the early game (there are 8, this was the first to come up.)
>Andre_Popadynec: AJT 3A TAJ +38 255
>Arie_Sinke: DGINORX 5E NIX.D +35 365
#note Tough position. I have a 100 point lead and don't want to fritter it away. I opted for NIXED because it scores comparably to the best plays (only XI 15A, which blocks nothing, scores more) and takes out the spot for high scoring 2x2s through the E, as well as a few "marginal" lines. After I made my play, it occurred to me that with the Z out, the A1-6 spot might be a big deal, and maybe something like DOTING to take that out might be good. ERODING 5H for 18 and DINERO 5E for 25 do well in the sim because they set up the X at 6J if I draw an E (or an I after DINERO), with ERODING being the sim winner by a small margin. NIXED is also okay, lots of plays are close.
>Andre_Popadynec: EHIL A1 LI.HE +36 291
>Arie_Sinke: EGOPRST L2 G.OP +12 377
#note I block the best bingo line (and the one most likely to offer bingos that score enough for me to lose) while fishing for one myself to hit one of the marginal lines that still exist. This does well in a sim, but if I only care about spread, JOG C3 is better.
>Andre_Popadynec: DEEOPWZ 13K DEW +27 318
>Arie_Sinke: ENORRST M3 .NORTERS +71 448
#note That worked out well.
>Andre_Popadynec: ATZ 8L Z.TA +69 387
>Arie_Sinke: EFOPRY N12 PYRO +29 477
#note This is my best endgame play; I go out in two while setting myself up. If Andre blocks I have other options.
