#player2 John_Dungey John Dungey
>Arie_Sinke: ELMNSTV -MV +0 0
#note Weird position. Quackle thinks I should go with VENT here, or maybe VENTS. If I do exchange I should prefer EMNST to ELNST - ELNST bingos slightly more but EMNST is better for scoring. It's close.
>John_Dungey: IIIIIII -IIIII +0 0
>Arie_Sinke: ELNRSTW -LW +0 0
#note This is the best exchange. The potential for draws like this is what makes opening exchanges risky.
>John_Dungey: IIIIUUU -IIIUU +0 0
>Arie_Sinke: AEENRST 8D EASTERN +66 66
#note So many options - not much to differentiate between them. At least EASTERN is unhookable.
>John_Dungey: ORV E8 .RVO +14 14
>Arie_Sinke: ABGILOR J2 LABORI.G +65 131
#note I was disappointed that John blocked my five tile overlap of GARBOIL. LABORING is the best I can do.
>John_Dungey: DE K5 DE +14 28
>Arie_Sinke: EIOPRSU L6 SOUPIER +73 204
#note This maximizes score - no reason to prefer anything else.
>John_Dungey: CEHSTY M2 CHESTY +49 77
>Arie_Sinke: AEGHILW K10 AWEIGH +40 244
#note I thought about this for a long time and ultimately decided to risk a 3x3 for the equity. I'm only up by 127 - it's not like I can't lose without a 3x3 going down. Quackle seems to agree. WEIGH D11 is okay but the A isn't worth 3 points here.
>John_Dungey: AZ I3 ZA +46 123
>Arie_Sinke: ALMSTWX 15K .ALMS +33 277
#note Don't know what I was thinking here - this play is poor. If I'm going to block the H my best bet is SWATH 15G, which scores the same but keeps a much more flexible leave by getting rid of the W. That being said, I can probably afford to ignore the H for one more turn and just play WAX K1 for 34, keeping a much stronger leave.
>John_Dungey: DJUY D11 JUDY +39 162
>Arie_Sinke: IOOTTWX K1 TIX +31 308
#note I missed TWIXT F11, which scores 41 and is far better than any other option. I sank a lot of time convincing myself that this was better than WOT and XI (it probably isn't.)
>John_Dungey: AGINU H4 GUIN.A +17 179
>Arie_Sinke: ALNOOTW F11 WOOL +22 330
#note Looks best.
>John_Dungey: ENNO C12 NEON +21 200
>Arie_Sinke: AEEINTV O8 NAIVETE. +86 416
#note Looks best.
>John_Dungey: DFL 4L D.LF +24 224
>Arie_Sinke: ?ACIMNO D1 COINMAt. +78 494
#note I'm far enough ahead that I can afford to open up a 3x3 for 8 extra points (compared to COAMINg B6, which I also considered) and not worry about losing.
>John_Dungey: ABF O1 BAF. +36 260
>Arie_Sinke: ?EEIKPU C3 KUE +32 526
#note Don't know what to do here, it may pay to keep a U? Quackle is useless because it wants me to fish for blockable 3x3s. This blocks QI C3, which John is likely to have.
>John_Dungey: DEIORRT 1D .REDIT +27 287
>Arie_Sinke: ?EIPQT F1 .QuIP +35 561
#note Best.
>John_Dungey: OR 7B RO. +3 290
>John_Dungey: (ET) +4 294
