>Arie_Sinke: AEGHIKS 8H KHI +20 20
#note I correctly surmised that KHI was a better play than stuff like HAIK and HAIKS. Unfortunately, I missed the standout play of SKEIGH (to be honest, I don't think I even knew that word.) for me, the real question is whether or not my aggressive placement of KHI is worth it. Quackle says no by about 0.5 points, and I am inclined to concur. This sort of thing isn't usually my style, but for some reason it felt right here.
>Matt_Canik: ACOPT 7G COAPT +29 29
>Arie_Sinke: AEGINOS L2 AGONISE +78 98
#note This is best.
>Matt_Canik: BOW M2 BOW +31 60
>Arie_Sinke: ?DDLOSU 9I SUDD +29 127
#note I considered playing DOLT K4, but was ultimately drawn to this play for points and long term defense. My play doesn't do well in the sim but it does obstruct development of the board into the bottom left. I am inclined to concur with the sim and believe that DOLT K4 is better - should bingo 60% of the time next turn. I did consider DOLT but I was trying to be clever.
>Matt_Canik: AFU 5I FAU. +14 74
>Arie_Sinke: ?LNOOPQ -LOOPQ +0 127
#note I'm basically forced to exchange here - Quackle favors a bunch of exchanges that keep the P very slightly.
>Matt_Canik: IIIIOOO -IIIOOO +0 74
>Arie_Sinke: ?EEMNOV 4D VENOMEd +84 211
#note I wasn't 100% convinced that OVErMEN was good, so I sacrificed 1 point to play VENOMEd.
>Matt_Canik: ANRY M9 YARN +25 99
>Arie_Sinke: AEFOOST 13I FOOTS +40 251
#note This is a weird sequence. I put Matt on hold for SUDDY, which looked totally unfamiliar to me. I was probably 90% sure it was no good. However, under the circumstances it was very difficult to challenge. A bingo with YARNS would get him right back in the game. If I had perfect word knowledge and knew with certainty that SUDDY was no good, I could challenge and play FOAM H1 for 27. As it is, I felt that I needed to accept the play and take the points.
>Matt_Canik: IX 14J XI +52 151
>Arie_Sinke: AADEETT N2 ATE +26 277
#note This looks best despite being aggressive. I have a D and there is only one D and one S and blank unseen, so the spot I create is likely to be a one term opening that Matt may not be able to exploit.
>Matt_Canik: EIJVY 15F JIVEY +67 218
>Arie_Sinke: ABDEEHT O4 DEBATE +43 320
#note It's this or DEATH in the same spot for the same score. The B is a poor tile and I wanted to get rid of it, but apparently the E is so valuable to me here that BE is a slightly better leave than the lone H, which runs counter to my intuition. Not a huge error.
>Matt_Canik: EGR H1 GER. +21 239
>Arie_Sinke: AHILQRR 12H QI +26 346
#note No real alternative here. I conveniently obstruct a line for sevens as well as the R.
>Matt_Canik: CGILNPS 10M .L +4 243
>Arie_Sinke: AAHLRRZ E1 HAZ.L +34 380
#note HAZER looks like a better play for leave. At the last minute I decided I wanted to obstruct eights from the V beginning with VO, so I went with HAZEL instead. This is probably not a justifiable decision. I thought with his extremely fishy play something like VOTARIES was likely enough.
>Matt_Canik: CGIMNPS 1A PINC. +45 288
>Arie_Sinke: AEEINRR 2A ANE +16 396
#note Here I force Matt to either play an eight from the V or a nine with PA or IN. Matt bingos 8% of the time on his next turn after this, compared to 16% of the time after the alternatives. After AL, I can assume that whatever three tile leave Matt kept after PINCH was very good, probably including an S or a blank.
>Matt_Canik: EGRS 6B REGS +25 313
>Arie_Sinke: EIORRRW 5A ROWE. +22 418
#note This play wins a sim. It makes bingos extremely unlikely
>Matt_Canik: O K9 .O +3 316
>Arie_Sinke: AILRRTT F2 RA. +20 438
#note Not sure exactly what my rack was here; this looks right. I'm just playing this to get a rew points and not empty the bag.
>Matt_Canik: ?DEILMU 12L I. +8 324
>Arie_Sinke: ILRTTUU 11I RUT +20 458
#note This is right, taking points and preventing Matt from using the only good scoring spot on the board.
>Matt_Canik: ?DEILMN 7A MED +20 344
>Arie_Sinke: ILTU A7 .ILT +18 476
#note This is technically suboptimal, as Matt could stick me with the U and slow play me. Matt was already overtime (he lost 20 points on time), and under the circumstances it's probably reasonable to take the points.
>Matt_Canik: ?ILN B10 INLy +9 353
>Matt_Canik: (U) +2 355
