#player1 Doug_Lundquist Doug Lundquist
#player2 Jonathan_Lindh Jonathan Lindh
>Doug_Lundquist: EEILLRT 8D RILLET +14 14
#note Thanks to Doug for providing his racks! This play is a little behind 8H ELL for 6. Arguably more stylistic then anything but I've noticed these shorter opening plays sim better.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGGIJRT D3 JIGGE. +30 30
#note Doug said he had a good rack to go 2nd with and I said I had a good rack to go 1st with. Pretty accurate. JIGGER is best.
>Doug_Lundquist: ?AEEEUW 7G AWEE +20 34
#note Doug had 5C AGUEWEED for 72 if I'm reading his leave right. That's hard to see. AWEE was also 20 and not 18.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADNNRTY 6J YARN +28 58
#note 6I RYND for 32 is my play. RYND would have given a lot less back than YARN did plus kept a vowel.
>Doug_Lundquist: ?EMOOUZ 5K ZOO +50 84
#note Or ZOOM.
>Jonathan_Lindh: DENOSST 7C D. +5 63
#note Really hard turn. No bingos play.
>Doug_Lundquist: ?CEIMOU B3 MEChOUI +64 148
#note Doug had 2 bingos neither of us spotted. B6 zOECIUM for 66 and M4 M(ON)OECIOUs for 64.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ENOSSTU A9 TONUSES +76 139
#note Best.
>Doug_Lundquist: AADEKOT 4L KETA +35 183
#note Doug said here he debated between KETA and TOAD (I believe). TOAD actually sims best because of the spot it blocks but it's pretty close.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABFHPRX A1 FRAP +47 186
#note Best. O1 HAPAX for 51 is an option I didn't see, but A1 is more dangerous plus I want to keep the X for scoring.
>Doug_Lundquist: ADIMOOR B12 MODI +28 211
#note Or B11 AMIDO for 32.
>Jonathan_Lindh: BBHLNNX O2 BL.B +8 194
#note Quackle likes exchanging but I wanted to play defense on O1.
>Doug_Lundquist: AENORTV 9H TAVERN +21 232
#note I thought this was a really hard position. 5D GANEV for 18 performs pretty well on the sim but 9H TAV and NAV also perform well. The Championship Player doesn't intially find this, but it does well when added to the sim. This play goes for the blanks and an unseen A to hook (TAVERN)A.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGHINNX C9 XI +35 229
#note My 2nd clear mistake of the game. I need to play 8K NEIGH for 37. That scores and keeps the X for D9 with 4 I's and 2 U's unseen. My play is about 4th. Also considered K8 HEXING for 34 which sims 2nd but didn't like opening that much after Doug played off 6 tiles.
>Doug_Lundquist: ACIOOQR 2K CARO. +18 250
#note 12A UMIAQ for 32 is the winner here by a good bit. That word is always hard to spot.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEGHHNN N8 NAH +24 253
#note Quackle likes 1L HEN here which is my next play. I was partially restricting the TAVERN hooks.
>Doug_Lundquist: IIOQRSV 10F QIS +39 289
#note Best.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EEGHLNT 1L HEN +23 276
#note Or HET in the same place.
>Doug_Lundquist: DIOOPUV L8 P.OUD +22 311
#note 8K POUND for 36.
>Jonathan_Lindh: EGILRTW D10 TRIG +12 288
#note PROUD blocked WEREGILT* which I was going to instantly play even though Doug probably knows it's no good and would have instantly challenged. Here I had to search for something worthwhile. I had exactly the right idea here, play off the clunkiest tiles and spread the board so Doug can't block. TWIG in the same spot is the sim winner which makes sense but I only came up with TRIG. I agree TWIG is best because the leave is a lot more flexible than ELR. I had the right idea though!
>Doug_Lundquist: AINSTVY K11 NAVY +27 338
#note NAVY is best according to Quackle. 93.18% to win. However, I would pull this game out.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ADEELW 14H LAW.ErED +94 382
#note My highest scoring word of the tournament! LAWYERED is the only 100% win. WALLEYED is the other bingo and that wins less than 50% of the time.
>Doug_Lundquist: EIIOSTU O8 OSE +31 369
#note OSE, USE, and 15F SUITE for 28 are all tied for the best play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: F I13 F. +9 391
#note Best along with L14 EF.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (IITU) +8 399
#note Final score recorded as 399-367 because Doug underscored AWEE.
