#player1 Ogola Joshua Ogola
#player2 Okechi Richard Okechi
#description Created with Macondo
>Ogola: EEEISST -EI +0 0
#note Exchange EI still okay, EE would have been slightly better.
>Okechi: AEGINRU H8 UG +6 6
#note Complicated start to a game, quackle suggests exchanging U.

I opted to do that on the board disposing G, might be wise or not depending on how the game shapes from here.
>Ogola: EEJNSST 10F JEST +31 31
#note Top move, perfect leave ENS, bingo is imminent for Ogola you'd guess
>Okechi: AEINORU 9H .U +7 13
#note I imagined that if opponent played a Q word using the U on the board, then I would be able to play AE(Q)UORIN.

I have sadly picked a very weak move here, will it prove costly?
I was worried I'd play anything below the J and give away a lot while damaging my leave.
>Ogola: DEENOSY J7 DENY +43 74
>Ogola: DEENOSY -- -43 31
#note Full of JEST (JESTFUL), that's not how we write it. I DENY my opponent a chance to score with an illegal word.
>Okechi: AAEINOR 11E OAR +17 30
#note Time to try and find a decent move in this soon-to-explode board.

>Ogola: DEENOSY 12D DOYEN +38 69
#note Save the phonies, Ogola has been finding the best moves in this game so far.

In fact, in another universe where JESTY* is a valid word, Ogola would have found all moves perfectly .
>Okechi: ADEILMN 8H .NMAILED +89 119
>Okechi: DGILUVV (challenge) +5 124
#note I think UNMAILED is good, Ogola awards five points for the fair guess. First time I am finding the best move on my turn.
>Ogola: AEHIOSY 13C YAHS +43 112
#note YAHS is still among the top choices, when I saw this from my end, I tried to imagine my opponent had so many esses.
>Okechi: DGILUVV 14B VUG +24 148
#note N2 DIVULG(E) 28 is quackle's top choice, but i don't want TO REVEAL a lot of floaters for my trailing opponent.
Second best: K4 VULV(A) 22
I go for VUG, turns out to be third best.
Somewhat convinced that I will spot a bingo if there is in the next move having a V with me.
>Ogola: BEEIOTT 7E OBIT +12 124
#note I don't understand why Ogola made this move, but trailing, I guess he was trying to expand the board further.
Even the best move available, 9K BOITE only scores a mere 22, almost all moves are good here.
>Okechi: ADEILMV N7 M.DIEVAL +82 230
#note Bingo! I played MEDIEVAL but I was unsure of a hook, I couldn't be the one to risk.
>Ogola: ?EEFKNT M13 KEF +34 158
#note If you don't know the bingo here (which i learnt from analysis), K7 F(A)KEmENT, then the move Ogola picked is the one you should pick.

On my end, I was a little relieved as I had to worry less about MEDIEVALS, "iko kweli ama haiko?"
>Okechi: CEINPRS 8A PRICE +38 268
#note I look around the board and can't spot an eight letter that I know, I go PRICE.
Turns out it was the best move, lucky day, else there could have been a PRICE to pay.
>Ogola: ?BENOTZ L12 TOZE +53 211
#note "I may not find the bingo, but I will spot the highest valued non-bingo move." We can assume Ogola said this.
See this:
K5 BOT(A)NiZE 122
C3 BrONZ(I)TE 108
K3 BeNZO(A)TE 86...Risky

>Okechi: EGNORSX 7B OX +36 304
#note Simple move, also helps close down the board as I am leading.
Any chance to defend while scoring will be highly appreciated here.
>Ogola: ?ABNRUW 6E WAB +26 237
#note No bingo available, so the move that Ogola plays is the best move overall.
>Okechi: EGNPRST L6 GR.PT +8 312
#note I was so excited about defending a lead that I did not take time to spot L3 PREST(I)NG 72.
K4 TREP(A)NGS 94 was out of my reach as per the time this game was played.
In no way was the move I played wise
>Ogola: ?AEINRU O1 URINAtE. +81 318
#note Ogola finds a bingo, so it is the best move overall. I hope you have understood how it works for Ogola so far.
>Okechi: CENOSTW 15D SOWCE +40 352
>Okechi: DEEINRT (challenge) +5 357
#note I have the last S, let me get 40 points, close the bottom rank and dispose the C as well as the W.
Five points awarded.
From Zyzzyva:
Verb; ds-back hooks, also SOUCE,SOUSE, SOWSE, SOWSSE
>Ogola: ?AFHIIR 6A IF +27 345
#note IF Ogola plays, then that is the best move.

PS: notice the HAIRIF rack, interesting word.
>Okechi: DEEINRT 2H TRENDIE. +72 429
#note I find a more fashionable way to remain ahead.
>Ogola: ?AHIQRT 1G QI +39 384
#note Brilliant plays from my opponent most of the game, this time it involves managing Q without a U.
>Okechi: AAELNOS 9L .A. +10 439
#note From the tiles that are unseen to me, I expect my opponent to bingo. I am not sure I can handle the defending scenario well so I opt to leave one in the bag and get the most from playing the doubled vowel on my rack.
After the game, I discovered that 3H SEA 12 was the winningest move for the following reasons:
1. Takes away all the practical bingo lanes currently available.
2. Empties the bag so opponent cannot attempt to force another extension.
>Ogola: ?AHLORT 3B HARLOTs +72 456
#note Two bingos available, both scoring 72 points. LAnTHORN could have made the endgame a little more complicated but not winning still. DIfficult to spot though.
>Okechi: AEILNOS 4A SOLEIN +29 468
#note ANISOLE is not playable, a little calculation shows that SOLEIN is winning and I go for it.
2B SLOAN 34 was a much better option.
>Ogola: N 15K N.. +6 462
#note Ogola takes some time here, after inspecting the boad, he realizes there is no winning chance, so he challenges SOLEIN just in case haiko.
Plus five for opponent. He plays NEF and out.
>Ogola: (A) +2 464
#note A few mistakes from etiher players but Ogola's mistakes proved more costly, especially the phony.
Almost perfect play from Ogola, even when he did not find the bingos.
Lucky to have spotted UNMAILED and MEDIEVAL even though I missed PRESTING.
Thoroughly enjoyable!
